The school leaves much to be desired. We moved our family to Attica a few years ago because we love the environment that a small town school offers to our children -- we don't want them to be just another face in the crowd. Sadly we found a school that is just riddled with trouble. The Principal has made the paper repeatedly this school year because of a serious lack of professionalism. The office staff is a bit cold -- which is shocking at the elementary level. The school nurse readily distributes medications without parental permission. Emails and phone calls go completely ignored at all levels -- all the way up to the superintendent. It has been a big let down. We wanted to love it...but there are just so many disappointments. Perhaps most importantly the academics are seriously lacking, the standards here are very low. There are so many children that are struggling to do the basics here who do not receive appropriate interventions. Meanwhile our children complain that the workload is too easy! We need better intervention methods for those that are deficient and improved gifted and talented options for those that are identified as such. The school is a mess.
