My students thrive at San Benito Road Elementary school. The teachers are wonderful and the PTA is really great too!

We have done a lot of school hopping because of moving and have lasted at San Benito for the longest now, three years. I currently have 3 children attending. We have had some excellent teachers. There has been 2 new principals since we have attended. My oldest has issues socializing on the playground. There a lot of difficult children in his grade level. The last principal separated my son from another boy on the playground (without telling me) because the other kid's parent complained and said they didn't want our kids playing together. I thought that was an inappropriate response. They were separated onto two different playgrounds from about February to the end of school. This was difficult because they had the same friends, so every other week he had no friends to play with because of the playground he was restricted to..The current principal has been trying different things. There is one boy in particular that is causing problems, not just with my child. The last time they fought she made them write a speech and present it to the entire cafeteria at lunch time. (they had been warned the next time something happened this would be the consequence and they got along for months until the next incident) I appreciate she is trying new things. The school has lots of events for the kids such as fall festival, science night, craft night, muffins in the morning, donuts with dads, the 30 mile club (most of these are put on by PTA) My kids love all the activities. Some really awesome teachers work here!

My son just finished kindergarten and we are so happy that we chose San Benito Elementary. The kindergarten teacher was awesome. She definitely equipped my son to move on to 1st grade. He is reading and loving it. We are excited to start next week.

All 5 of my children have attended San Benito since 1996. For the most part the teachers are wonderful and caring, the custodian is loving and kind and has been there forever.Until last year this was a great experience for the past year my child has been bullied and the principal is unwilling to do any thing about it.I have emailed her,the school board and the superintendent .There response was to make excuses and basically blame it on my child.I am very concerned as my child now hates school and feels unsafe knowing he will get no help from the principal.San Benito has a zero bullying policy but no one will back it up.

San Benito is a wonderful community based school with very qualified and caring teachers. The principal knows almost all 450 kids by name and the kids really respect and love her. There are many free family programs offered by the PTA such as Donuts with Dad, Muffins with Mom and family Movie or Craft Night. I feel like my kids are very safe at this school and I trust the adults there to take care of and guide my children.
