Principle Knowles might be the worst in her position I have ever seen!

Do not come to this school if you are part of any minority group or are female. This place really only caters to wealthy white kids whose parents donate money to the school. Wealthy kids who are part of the sports teams are given passes on things like dress codes when others are sent to the office and shamed. Racist and homophobic rhetoric are rampant in this school with both students and staff. Teachers who try to speak up get fired. Students who don’t have wealthy families or are not part of sports are entirely ostracized and picked on by staff. Of course there are a few good eggs but they never stick around for longer than a year. As a graduate of the 2023 class I can say with full confidence that attending Argyle High School was the worst thing I could have ever don’t for my mental wellbeing. I transferred in as a confident, sure of myself student and left insecure. This school is perfect for your family if you are wealthy and white. if not, be prepared for your child to experience sexism, racism, homophobia, and outcasting in their time at Argyle.

A place where the average student goes to become invisible. If you are a star athlete and popular, or love band/drama/theatre, this is your place. If you fall anywhere in between there you will be forgotten and become just a number. The district mismanages funds and can't keep up with the growth. The old part of Argyle is a click and snobs everyone else in the district. Wish we would have never moved here, now my teenager needs therapy for depression.

extremely sexist school with terrible administrators who turn a blind eye to bullying.

More consecutive Texas Lone Star Cup championships than any school in the state of Texas. The school, community, staff & parents are committed to a very high standard of excellence in all phases of education.

We moved to Argyle for the small town feel and the schools. My kids had excellent experiences living here. Highly recommend

We recently moved to Argyle and my children have attended both the Middle school and High school for the 2017-2018 school year. I cannot be happier with the schools. We left an undesirable situation with my middle school-er being bullied and have not had any problems with it here. The staff has been welcoming and helpful and so have the children. The high school has been great and has offered a lot of opportunities for my child to excel. Coming from a large HS (2500+ HS) it has been a great change for them. My high school-er even said it "was the best thing we could've done". Easier to meet people and make friends with smaller size. Athletics and Band are big but my middle school-er isn't athletic and it hasn't been a problem. Lots of other clubs and activities if they are interested. Safe campus with police on campus, drug dog, and armed staff. Dress code is tough but not unrealistic as is academic policies. They hold the students to a high standard and stick to it which is good. I think it's a great school as well as my children. High test scores and graduation rates with show that. I don't feel that there is any more of a problem with drugs and parties than other schools, just a small community so everyone knows when it does happen. Great schools.

Argyle ISD is a great district. The district finds a way for every student to get involved. The high school offers a large amount of clubs for students to get involved in. They have a one hour lunch period that allows students to eat lunch and go to a club meeting or meet for tutorials. The other campuses have high expectations and the teachers are always going above and beyond for their students. It is common to find teachers still on their campus after the school day has ended offering tutoring and working with students. The programs available for students with special needs are outstanding. It is a growing district, a district that upholds high standards and still has small town charm. The Superintendent is an effective leader who is present at almost every event that takes place in the district. You can even see her on campuses volunteering or visiting with students. She puts the students, staff and teachers needs first. Great district, highly recommend it.

I would not recommend this school, there are many good schools around to look at though.

I am a current student at Argyle High School. Band and Athletics are very big part of the school, however, there are many other clubs and activities to be a part of. We have a dance team, robotics club, and a very big choir. The teachers are always very interesting, and they do a very good job of preparing us for college. There are bullies at every school, but I feel that Argyle has very few, and the school does a very good job of making sure bullying doesnt happen.

Moving to Argyle was one of the biggest mistakes I have ever made. I am a student currently attending Argyle High School and I can't even begin to mention the racist and sexist jokes and slurs which escape from the mouths of the students, teacher, coaches, and administration. Argyle High School is more concerned with football and the football players that the teachers will purposely assign "easy" worksheets to help bring our grades up. This school is more concerned with sports than academics. There is a strict dress code which expects girls to hide their bodies, so the boys and male faculty can pay more attention in class. This is only perpetrating rape culture. One of my friends has been sexually harassed and I sat in class listening to my peers while they made rape jokes. There is a drug and alcohol problem at the school district, but all they care about is how we make them look from the outside. Bullying is another major issue in Argyle. If you're just a little different, they will make you a target. I know Argyle is a public school, but it often feels as if Christianity is shoved down my throat.

Beware if you are moving to Argyle. Many people are happy here and that's terrific, but there are so many fine and wonderful families that have left/are leaving this school district because of bullying and irresponsible administration. Admin/teachers cover for each other and there is no accountability from the administration. If you take a concern to admin, the response will be "well there are so many great things in this school; you should be happy. We are the Lone Star Cup Winners for the past 3 years." Their focus is on winning at all cost. Athletics and Band are champions (and being in one of these is a must if you move out here) but be cautious on what and who you talk to. If a parent expresses any remark or concern about programs or procedures, your child will be chastised by the coaches/staff and will not play/participate. Parents sacrifice their child at the mercy of the winning programs. Children are learning you have to bite your tongue and follow the crowd in order to be accepted. If you are packing and moving out to Argyle with the huge growth coming this way.....good luck! You will meet some wonderful families but don't get fooled by the school district.

I am currently an eighth grade student in AMS. Just like what some other reviews have said about if you don't have any interests in sports, not to come to this school. These are correct. , personally don't play any sports and I'm in the band. I get made fun of a lot about " being fat because you don't play football." One more complaint too: wealthieness. I have looked around our school ever since I was in fourth grade for people with iPhones (almost everyone). And still, 9/10 of the schools population has better phones than my mom my dad and brother.I also get bullied about how " I'm poor because I have a $15 go phone." However, there is still 1/10 of our school that hasn't become spoiled rotten. So all in all, if you are a modest to low living family, your kid will get bullied, but have some cool friends. If you are a rich family, you're set, I just hope that I'm not slammed against a locker by him/ her. The teachers are great except for the few that don't actually like their jobs. You can just see it in their eyes.

This school is an amazing school with lots of teacher and parent over achievers support. They excel at EVERYTHING they attempt and don't settle for anything less. It's more of a college prep school. The whole community raises these kids and many of the teachers are also parents of the students.

This school has many teachers who try to get jobs teaching here so their own children can attend here. That says a lot about how great of a school this is!
