I am disheartened by my experience with Vineyard Academy as a parent. The school's militant atmosphere, characterized by strict expectations and unrealistic standards, is not conducive to effective learning for many students, including my own. The teaching style, reminiscent of a taskmaster, has resulted in frustration. I believe that the lack of credentialed teachers may contribute to this approach, as they may not possess the necessary experience to engage students. When I brought my concerns to the school's attention, I was disappointed by their response, which shifted the blame to my student rather than addressing my concerns. We have since found a better fit for my student, who is now exceling in a more supportive school environment.

As a concerned parent with a student enrolled at Vineyard Academy, I find myself grappling with serious doubts about the school's credibility. Despite its small and intimate setting, being a private institution means Vineyard Academy operates without adherence to any state-mandated academic standards in California. This absence of oversight translates to a lack of approved curriculum, standardized testing, or established promotion criteria, leaving parents like myself with no mandated academic reporting data to gauge our children's progress. Moreover, Vineyard Academy lacks accreditation from reputable commissions such as WASC or CAIS, leaving it free to operate without external validation of its educational standards. While the school's Christian foundation integrates faith into its academic program admirably, the stark reality is that its middle school curriculum falls significantly below the rigorous standards set by public institutions like BUSD. Students are not adequately challenged, and the coursework remains rudimentary at best.On the administrative front, there are glaring concerns regarding faculty dedication to student achievement and the school's partnership with parents. The lone parent orientation night at the start of the academic year is disappointingly lacking in structure and fails to address pertinent agenda items, serving more as a casual meet-and-greet session. Regrettably, Vineyard Academy offers no regular opportunities for parents to engage with teachers to discuss their child's progress, leaving proactive parental involvement as the only means to prevent students from slipping through the cracks.Beyond these systemic issues lie more subjective but nonetheless concerning observations. A palpable sense of unprofessionalism pervades some faculty interactions within the middle school program, with students often publicly reprimanded for matters that should be handled discreetly. Additionally, the school's sports program is notably underdeveloped and lacks the resources necessary to provide meaningful athletic opportunities for students. Furthermore, the glaring absence of cultural diversity within the student body underscores a broader lack of inclusivity and awareness. In conclusion, while Vineyard Academy may have admirable intentions, its execution falls short in numerous critical areas. As a result, I have made the difficult decision to withdraw my child from the school at the end of the academic year.

Excellent school with a strong emphasis in both academics and art. My kids have been at this school since they were 2 and we have found the school to be wonderful in every aspect.

My children went to school here from preschool to 8th grade and it was an outstanding experience. Is it always perfect no, but no school ever will be, just like life, and this is what this school teachers in its Esler's. Being responsible citizens, respectful, kind and caring about our world not just ourselves. Vineyard is the best place to put your child if you want them to become a well rounded person who knows how to handle themselves when it comes down to the difficulties life can throw us. Teachers love, listen and genuinely care about each of their students, and are all credentialed, not just church goers. I knew my child got a great education here when they went on to high school and graduated at the top of their class. Vineyard Christian School is great!

I just went on a tour of the school, for my three and a half year old and it was awesome! I have been to many preschools and this one is far and above, one of the best and definitely the best I have seen! My son hasn't been attending preschool for a couple of weeks, elsewhere comma but I will be moving into this school soon! This school is very well staffed and prepared for anything. Very very very nice School. I will update in a few months

Vineyard Christian School Anaheim has been a huge blessing to our family. The teachers are all fully accredited and most have masters degrees. They are great teacher who pour their whole heart into the kids. They really treat the kids as individual people and help them reach their highest potential. The school has a very positive loving environment.. I have a 4th grader, 3rd grader and Kinder-gardener and we've now been at the school for 5 years. What a great School experience!

As I was googling the school to get the phone number, I took a look at the reviews because I was surprised that the overall grade was lower than I expected. It seems a few parents have not had favorable experiences. Also, one is so badly written, that I'm not sure if it was a parent or a child. In short, no school is perfect, but I have had the pleasure of dealing with the principal and some of the teachers. I found them to be excellent, caring persons. There is also a focus on your child's spiritual and character development that you won't find in a public school. The school is also in the final stages of receiving an exemplary grade of accreditation in the private school sector. I have also spoken at depth with the principal on his educational philosophy and he definitely is on the cutting edge and moving his teachers in the right direction. Finally, whether private or public, the parents need to be actively involved in their child's education. No amount of tuition replaces that responsibility.

I totally agree with the review has posted on Dec/8/2012 . This is not a school that you want to risk you child in. Girls in this school are super mean , teachers are no loving heart , but pet only a few kids that they favor. Lots of bullies . Say BIG NO to this school !!

I moved my daughter from Vineyard to a CA distinguished public school which had the highest api in the district she was able to attend the GATE program and the international baccalaureate in middle school. At Vineyard your child will not get that same opportunity if your looking for your child to excel in academics. As far as social problems I would say Vineyard lacks in taking care of our kids. We pay good money for our kids to be in a small classroom where they should be treated with respect and as equals. My daughter was definitely bullied by the mean girls and was even physically pushed a few times in line. Her teacher did nothing to resolve my issue which really disappointed me. Of course once in public school she had a completely different exposure. I was surprise at how well she did with a larger class and a more diverse community of teachers and students. My children have run into a few small problems at the school they are at now but the teachers and principal are hands on and are honest to god children first people. Everyone at Vineyard pays the same amount and I don't think they realize that Vineyard comes off as cliqueish. No equality at this school. I

I'm sorry the parent posting in Dec.2010 had such a bad experience but this has not been our case at all. I have many friends in public education and every year I compare the Vineyard curriculum with the public schools and every year Vineyard meets or exceeds the grade level work designated by the State of California. My child is getting a great education - scholarly, spiritually and emotionally. If you are looking to raise a well-rounded, well-developed child, I would highly recommend this school.
