Dysfunctional. Delusional. This is how I would describe this entire district. The superintendant does a terrible job along with his entire administration. Buildings are in very poor shape thanks to an indifferent facilities director and lazy custodial staff. The only thing that keeps their rating up is the excellent teachers. The rest is absolutely sub-standard. Would not recommend this district at all.

The teachers and administration have been great for my children and our family. My daughter was lagging in her reading level and the school helped get her additional reading services and now she is thriving. The character education aspect is great at teaching children respect, empathy, and compassion. During non-COVID times, there were many additional offerings to engage students and allow them to participate in activities they enjoy (early morning gym/phys ed, after school band and orchestra for 5th graders (district provides late bus to allow children to participate in after school band/orchestra), 5th grad school musical, STEM/STEAM club, etc. The district has done a great job navigating the pandemic and keeping our children safe and engaged.

We love are school and could not be any happier with the way they have navigated the COVID-19 pandemic. They have they most amazing teachers who’s keep parents informed and kids engaged. Kids are most important!! Administration is wonderful. Windermere is a VERY special place.

We feel so lucky to be a Windermere family! I truly think the teachers are the best in the region, they are all deeply committed, experienced and fun. All of our kids have had great experiences. The "specials" (art, music, gym) are not an afterthought and add a lot to the experience. Most importantly it's a truly diverse student population and inclusion is taken seriously.

We are in the process of selling our house to get out of this school district-that's how much we dislike it. That's the best review I could possibly provide. The administration is a disaster and they truly do not care for the students and the families that are in their care.

When my husband and I 1st moved to the Amherst district, we (in a way) felt slighted, since Smallwood (the other middle school) had a higher school rating. However, after reading several positive reviews we thought it best to keep an open mind. I must say, we were very Impressed! The school and staff are very caring, and concerned. The teachers are always open to meet with parents and discuss your childs progress. Also, we felt very blessed to find a school with such diversity to help prepare our kids for the real world. I would recommend to friends and family!

I wrote a positive review of this school when my boys (twins) were in kindergarten, now they are entering 4th grade and my opinion of this school remains very positive. My boys are challenged everyday to be good citizens and students. The teachers are excellent, they work extremely hard to be sure that every child gets the most out of their day. I really can't imagine a better public school. My hat is off to the aminstrative staff and teachers for helping my boys as well as every other child reach there potential. If your wondering if this is a good school, please believe me, this is a great school!

Excellent start for any child. The school is very diverse unlike a lot of the suburban schools in this area. The staff is very freindly and caring. I have two kids that attend Windermere elementary and honestly I have nothing negative to say about the school.
