So far good. But sometimes few parents showed aggressive when time to pickup kids, unexpected behavior.

This school, unfortunately, is a perfect example of the failing Buffalo Public School System. I have two sons at this school and have been trying to get them out of it for the past few years. The problem is that there are so many failing schools in this public school system that is it nearly impossible to do so. My husband & I are very much "hands on" with our children's academic process, but our children are caught in a "perfect storm." Mishandled by the result of a lack of their school's parent involvement and leadership. Praying for a change...real soon...for the sake of the children.

Moreso than any other school I've worked at in Buffalo, Highgate Heights has a wonderful sense of community. The teachers go out of their way to make visitors and newly-hired staff feel welcome. Walking through the halls, you can observe the creative classwork, as well as photography and other amazing artwork that the staff has proudly posted. The administration and faculty are dedicated to providing the best possible education to their students. They are highly qualified and continue to seek out new strategies and research-based methods to deliver engaging and effective lessons. Highgate is especially fortunate to collaborate with both Buffalo Promise Neighborhood and Johns Hopkins to address the needs of its students and their families. The students at Highgate are curious and eager to learn. Their exuberance is demonstrated in the various extracurricular activities offered to them. During my few years at Highgate, I have witnessed students participate in basketball, drama, choir, African drumming and dance, drill team, newspaper, and more! They also enjoy field trips and assemblies throughout the school year. Highgate is always striving to reach new heights!
