The only communication we get from the school is the dumb automated phone system. My kids are in the elementary, but all I hear about is high school sports. How about other things like meet-the-teacher that is not until AFTER SCHOOL STARTS or elementary activities? We never know what is going on. I was told by the principal to my face that none of the 15 snow days would be made up because school days after testing are "just babysitting". With a whole week off in October for the county fair and 15 snow days my kids missed a full month of school before her testing. Wonder why test scores are so bad??? I believe kids can learn at school even after testing. Sad the school does not. More teaching for the test and not teaching for learning. Bullying is a big issue, but kids that try to get help get "clipped down" for tattling. I wish we could move to a district that has a clue what is going on. The only saving grace is the wonderful gifted program for grades 3-5.
