they target kids for special education as they must have a quota to meet for funding. my child was targeted to be put in special needsclass. they wanted us to come down and sign s stack of papers to agree to this. i told my wife you can tell them to pound sand. we took him over to a costly private school. he tested out they accepted him and has put up A and B ‘s for the last 3 years not once has the private school whos expectations are way higher and weactually have daily homework never once have they come to us about learning disabilities. we were not the only case. i know another family who was targeted and they moved their kid out and he is smart as ever. plUs all the lamé teachers we had none are still there. turnover is high. its not a good schoolbut they want you to think it is because its in milton the wealthiest area in georgia besides buckhead

This school has the potential to be great. It's located in a very active community with lots of parent involvement. Unfortunately, the current leadership has ruined the school and run off half the teachers. It's a known issue that is becoming worse. In fact, the school does not currently have enough teachers to support the population - making classrooms overcrowded. Other schools in the area do not have this problem so assume it's the leadership. I hope someone does something very soon because this is a travesty for the Milton community. We ended up putting our kids in private school for now.

This is an amazing school that ensures students are learning and teachers are teaching. We are able to see how happy our child is at the school. He talks about how everyone speaks and the principals knows his name. The teachers work hard and communicates effectively. We are please with the leadership of this school and could not ask for a better experience.

The entire time we were at CCES I was looking for a way to get my kids out. Thankfully we left halfway through last year and it was the best decision. It’s a shame. This school should be better. It just isn’t. Maybe those with the power to change things should look to nearby schools with strong teacher/student retention to find out why. I can tell you, it has nothing to do with a school’s test scores.

The kids and parents here are awesome. They’re trying to hang on…they really are. But the principal is running everyone out. Those of us hanging in are holding out hope for new leadership.

Two children going through this school. Couldn’t be happier with the communication, homework, engagement of parents and teachers and overall environment.

It’s has been amazing from the beginning. I have friends with kids at other area elementary schools, and they all want their kids here at CCES. We are a tight-nit community. We have high academic expectations, but we also offer a fun and energetic environment for all kids.

Poor. I have had my child in an other elementary before this. It far exceeded this school by leaps and bounds.

Principle is sub-par. She doesn't relate well to children or families.

I have four children (two of whom have already gone through CCES), and two who are there right now. This is a phenomenal school. Please note that the most recent negative comment (from 11/12/13) is outdated and refers to a principal who is no longer there. I have continuously been impressed with Dr. Williams (the current principal, who has been at CCES since 2014), as well as the teachers and staff.

When I read the last review I was appalled by the lack of knowledge and negativity. The school is amazing and it is because of the leadership of Mr. Freiberger, the staff and the parents working together to benefit the entire school. Losing him is a great loss to the school and community.

If you are concerned about high stakes standardized tests scores and perceived image, this is the school for you. This school is all about image. The principal's philosophy is "my way or the highway." The parents have almost no input or voice at the school. The principal controls the PTA and LSAC. The staff at the school is even afraid to make decisions. They make sure that the get everything cleared through the principal. Most parents and teachers are afraid the speak up. It has created a very unpleasant atmosphere.

Crabapple Crossing Elementary is a 2012 Blue Ribbon School recipient. This school is a success because of the excellent leadership, the teachers and wonderful parent involvement. I could not be happier to have my children grow up through this school.

My student is thriving at CCE. Coming from a private school, I was concerned about a few things. However, I have found nothing to be concerned about. My student's self confidence is growing exponentially! Love this community!
