At the moment, This school has many flaws. The school has very low morale and unfair standards.. However, the biggest flaw with this school right now is related to Springfield's financial situation. The school has various physical problems with it that span from bad plumbing to filthy environments. In addition, the lunches are low quality and overpriced. Another problem involves Springfield's sports. All the equipment is very outdated and worn, not to mention how much money the school requires you to pay to actually play the sport and buy the equipment. Another problem involving finances has to do with electives. In the near future (May of 2021), Springfield will have one the biggest budget cuts in its history. The cut will make students pay more money to play sports, it will cut the band which in return will lower the schools morale even further, it will cut out all electives and college classes along with firing half the staff in the building, it will increase the price of lunches, it will get rid of bussing services, and lastly it will cause many other negative changes to the school. These are some of the bigger changes, however there are still a few more I need to address. The teachers working in the high-school branch assign way too much work which will cause you to become overwhelmed and will likely have you working all night every day to get it done. They also assign work over any weekends or national holidays, and if you do not complete it by the deadline it will be marked as an F. Anyways, another problem they have is with they're schedule. Springfield has a ridiculous schedule right now that mixes block periods and regular periods together. The grading system is very unfair right now since most people usually just cheat which in return stops anyone from actually trying. Lastly, we have barely any assemblies or group activities anymore, which lowers morale and makes students lose their connection to the school. This is the majority of the issues I could think of, however there are a few positives I can think of. One positive i can think of involves the teachers. Some of the teachers at Springfield are fairly supportive of their students and they care about them more than teachers from other schools. Another positive involves drug problems at Springfield. Springfields drug problems aren't too bad compared to other schools, and security is somewhat heavy. Finally, students at Springfield gain a better education compared to some other schools.

I wish I could say it had been better. I graduated here and had hoped that my students would have an enjoyable and educational career here before going on to further their education yet unfortunately that couldn’t be further from the truth.

I graduated from Springfield in 1994 and went on to get my Bachelors from Kent. I felt I was prepared for college when I finished H.S. I had bought a house in Ellet, but after having children, we decided to move back to Springfield so our kids could go to these wonderful schools. Very happy to be part of the Springfield community!

My three children graduated from Springfield. They were very active in the amazing marching band. My daughters went on to graduate from Point Park University with honors, and one of them just completed her masters degree from the University of Akron. The academics is much better than Akron Public Schools, but behind Green and Lake. Most teachers are very good.
