I have no idea how it is nowadays, but I attended this school when it was a junior high and it was great back then. I am sad to see all the current bad reviews. I was here for 7th and 8th grade and I didn't have any major issues. I mean the usual bullying, but the security was better back then I guess. Most of my teachers were great (minus a few).

Poor experience. My son wasn't learning anything...his brain got soft and was being bullied. Moved him to alternative education to get out of that environment to actually learn.

It feels unsafe. Kids dread going here, but it's the only affordable middle school for kids. Drugs are everywhere, It's gotten so bad drug-dogs come on campus monthly.

My daughter was there for less then half of a day before she called me asking to pick her up. She came from an amazing school in Massachusetts, where the teachers teach, they are receptive and enjoy being there. Very sad

This school has so much drama take from me I've been there 2 years. Everyone wants to fight. And the vice principal is rude.!

The school has made a lot of positive changes these last couple of years. My child is in 7th grade, and she is very happy there. There is an amazing set of young teachers. My child went from being not so into math, to really doing well, and tells me the difference is the teacher explains it so well. Also, like that there are many after school choices, but wish more than just one day a week. The school is reaching out to parents with family nights with movies, etc. The student associations has fun field trips, and the GATE has very worthwhile field trips. So, many good things happening at La Contenta.

This school is the worst public school in California. Home of student anr teacher bullies. Where 12 and 13 year old boys go to lose self esteem and be exposed to drugs and dirtball natives for the first time. Bullying is not only tolerated, the teachers participate as well. Good riddance you shithole, I survived despite you.

My children go to this school. Honestly it is the worst school my children have ever been to. In 1-6 they went to a very bad school ( in MUSD ) . In Kindergarten they went to private school and honestly that school was nolt very pleasent. But this school is torture for my children and i beleieve that this school has the worst teachers and the school is very careless. Almost all the teachers don't care about the students. If i were not for the few decent teachers at tis school my kids would be going to Hope Academy. I suggest that no one enrolls their kid in this school. It is a never ending nightmare!.........

I went to this school for my 7th grade year. And now I'm going into my 8th grade year. Its a pretty good school for me personally. I've made lots of friends last school year. Honestly I've never seen anyone fight at the school just verbally but in class like "shut up" and it would go back and forth. In my opinion its a good school but it doesn't go from 7-11 it goes 7-8.

I had zero problems with my son going to La Contenta. Middle schools can be scary to say the least. La Contenta has a bad reputation just by people listening to other people. Middle school is a tough two years for any child. My son did great, had high grades and had no problems whatsoever. I liked La Contenta and so did my son. Teachers do care, all of them. Kids can learn anywhere, if they want to, no matter what school they attend. if they don't want to learn, it has nothing to do with the teachers or the school. Teachers mean? They are not mean enough in my opinion. They are not "allowed" to be.
