My daughter (7 yrs old in June) is thriving at the Livingschool in Joshua Tree. Founded by involved parents wanting a creative and positive learning environment for their children, the Livingschool has 2 phenomenal educators for a dozen students. Quality time ! Recent skills evaluations show skill levels well above her grade level. Happy kids that are enjoying learning :)

Since coming to the Living School, our 10 year old daughter is enjoying class like never before. The school's two teachers maintain a uniquely relaxed and yet animated environment in which the pupils curiosity and individual abilities are allowed to flourish, and the low teacher pupil ratio means that each child has the opportunity for one on one interaction with the teachers each day. In this setting, pupils are learning the skills of self-motivation and independence, while developing confidence in their own abilities in an environment that is both stimulating and nurturing: developing what will become a life long habit and love of learning. A happy child will learn well and the kids at this school are in an atmosphere where the teachers seem as inspired to delve into subjects as the pupils are themselves. There is a lovely atmosphere of shared learning and the excitement of inquiry into the full range of subjects, with supplementary workshops such as People and Plants which increased our daughter s sense of connectedness with the world around her while deepening her sense of wonder. Learning as fun! Something I certainly didn t experience myself as a child.

My family decided to move out to our 2nd home in Yucca Valley from LA last year. A big part of our decision was the opportunity for our daughter to attend the Livingschool in Joshua Tree. She has excelled in this unique co-op environment. Two wonderful teachers for just 12 students this year. We will have some openings for enrollment next year. A variety of "play-shops" augment the classroom work. Music, Arts, Outdoor/nature study/ Rock Climbing with certified instructors, People & Plants, Yoga, Tennis, Spanish, Violin... Awesome! Tired of co$t and competition for private/public schools?... check out our high desert community. Cheap real estate, awesome people!
