This school only cares about data and showing off. To the teachers and staff, if you are not in all honors or athletics then you are nothing. The teachers do not care, and no one cares about the old rickety high school. They just got all new buildings for the others schools while ceiling tiles have fallen on students at the high school. When it rains outside, it also rains on the upper floor of the school. The entire school system at Austintown does not care about bullying and does not care until physical fights start in the school building. Drugs are also rampant. The only people who have fun at this school are the athletes and band kids who get all the praise in the world.

I am an alum of Fitch High School and am proud to say I went through the Austintown local school system. When I was in high school, I was enrolled in the Symphonic Band, Marching Band and was also a part of the Color Guard in the Marching Band. I was also a part of the Volleyball teams and I can honestly say I had a great experience with extra-curriculars and also with academics. Fitch has a great teaching staff who really care about the quality of work they give their students and who want to see them succeed. The teachers were always there to help if needed. One great thing about Fitch is that they offer many types of different clubs and activities, so students have the chance to find one that suits them. Once my daughter is old enough, I plan to have her go through the Austintown school system as well. I met a lot of my friends through the school system and maintain those relationships to this day. Although many things have changed since I was enrolled in the school system, I still believe and feel that Fitch offers a level of education and overall experience that is second to none.

The schools are all new with the exception of the high school. Beautiful new schools cannot make up for poor teacher and worker morale due to the mean spirited people.This nasty attitude then trickles down on the students because some teachers don't care to do their job. Oh and good luck if your child has an IEP or is handicapped. Following rules and laws mandated by the Ada and ODE doesn't matter to this school district who is already known to be the worst in the state by the advocates. This is a school that also let's in any person who has been kicked out of any other school making it hard for others who actually want to learn. Throwing chairs and fights in the school are normal daily occurrences.

Four generations of our family have attended and graduated from Austintown Fitch High School. We have great teachers and staff. We now have a new campus setting, all but one building is less than 10 years old. Highly ranked Football and sports teams, Marching Band, Speech Team. Many language classes, AP & honers classes, art classes, computer classes, robotics, etc. All kinds of clubs and after school activities. There are many opportunities for our children if they want to learn and put in the effort. There are a few issues that need attention but overall it is a great place for kids to learn. There will always be staff members that may not be the best but the vast majority are caring and awesome people. Personally, I would like to see open enrollment dropped, but that is my opinion.

My son is a freshman and the class choices for them is great and he is loving it. Lots of things for the kids to do and to be interested in to expand their educations..
