Can’t say enough good things to capture the greatness of this school! My daughter LOVES her first grade teacher and I can’t say enough good things either! She is seriously flourishing at TES after being in Hawaii’s (sad to write, subpar) public schools. Her reading level has sky-rocketed, the homework isn’t ridiculous like it used to be, there are a ton of cool events, and most importantly, I know I’m sending my daughter to a safe environment. The building is secured—a crazy concept, I realize—but her previous hawaii school was flat-out open to any random person. Even doing pickup at TES is a friendly, warm event with staff waving at parents as they drive away!

We had high hopes for this school, but were soon disappointed when our students felt it was largely a negative learning environment. There were swear words written in the bathrooms, which didn't seem to be addressed strongly enough. While the academics were challenging, there were no projects or extensions of student learning, at least in the classes our students were in. Most subjects were taught by rote memorization leading to a quiz and a follow up test sometimes the day after. Bullying was an issue noticeable throughout the school. Students were apparently encouraged "not to tattle" and so had little recourse if they needed help with another student who was hitting or kicking them on a daily basis (this is one example). Our students were overall very stressed at this school.

I'm not thrilled with this school. I would not recommend it to someone new to the area. If we were going to be here longer, I would move my daughter to Mt. Vernon or Dare.

My son started 1st grade here when we PCS’d here and the administration and teachers have been so welcoming. He comes home everyday so excited about the day!

My son has been attending TES for the past three years (K - 2). I have been very impressed by the quality of the teachers and the school leadership. The school also has numerous family events and the "house" is always packed. We have enjoyed the school very much and my son is sad to leave it (we are PCSing.)

Bullying is a tremendous problem here. Moved this summer to get my child in Dare Elementary and Yorktown Middle. If your moving to this area remove this school from your list. Poor communication from teachers. Found a fingernail in school lunch. Teacher mistreated my child. The list goes on. Don't send your kids to Tabb or Coventry!!!! Most parents don't tell the truth. If your child is overweight they will be picked on and bullied. The staff/teachers ignore it and don't care. Please what ever you do don't put your child in Tabb Middle or Coventry Elem. I can't wait for my kids to have a better experience in Dare and Yorktown Middle.

Teachers are disengaged, and uncaring, and the school refuses to have a dialogue about how to improve my kids' performance.

School was good but nothing to write home about. Poor communication between parents and teachers/staff. On numerous occasions, I heard teachers talking negatively ( mocking/teasing) about certain students in my child's class which I found to be of very poor taste. There also seems to be a lot of favoritism. At the time, my child was in speech therapy and it was an absolute joke!

This is my sons first year at this school and it has been quite a dissapointment. Theyve had ridiculous amounts of days off that would be laughed at in the school district he attended in a different state. The PTA is comprised of affluent stay at home moms who only schedule things during school hours which make it nearly impossible for a single working parent to attend. My child was bullied here and I presented the principal with evidence but because shes friendly with the childs PTA mother....absolutely NO discipline occurred with the child who bullief mine.Hes struggled with a couple subjects and though Ive met with teachers, they place the resposibility 100% on the child and parent. While I agree we are responsible to do our part....yout the teachers, you get paid to teach so TEACH..rather than cancel tests because computers are down and you obviously have no clue jow to teach without one. Im hoping TMS is better than TES because if its not, Im going to have to look at moving my child back to PA for a better education.

All three of my children attended this school between 2004 and 2009 and I loved the home school communication that the teachers had. I had one child that was special needs and they were great with him.

This is the finest of 3 elementary schools my children have been enrolled in. We are a military family and the teachers/staff are more than supportive! Between both of my sons, they were in each of the grades and all of the teachers were phenomenal! I highly recommend this school!

This past year was our first year at Tabb Elementary, and the experience has been great. My grade K kids have learned so much, and love their teachers and their resource classes. The academics are great, Tabb heavily focuses on this. I would absolutely recommend this school to anyone considering schools in the area!

My twin girls have attended this school for 3 years. Not only have I been impressed with the learning, but the teachers and staff are extraordinary! The principal and asst principal are wonderful and really bent over backwards when my girls suddenly decided they wanted to be in separate classes 3 days before school started! The PTA is active and parents really support the school with donating time and helping out. The technology is good for learning also. 4th grade has monthly science lab that really reinforces classroom learning! Great School...I'm surprised the ranking isn't a 10!!! Sadly, we are moving this summer...I will miss having this treasure for my girls!
