We came from Ft Mill Schools. Hunter Street Elementary School has done so much more for my grandson then Ft Mill did. The teachers were so caring and didn't let him get lost in the crowd.

The teachers do all that is within their power to help children here. I have had varying experiences depending on grade levels, but overall the teachers are doing more than is expected. I am saying this because I am a teacher in another district. We don't do half what they do at Hunter Street. Parent participation is very low. Only a handful of students ever come to any events. I went to a PTO meeting once where i was the only parent besides the officers. I dare say many of the negative remarks were most likely made by parents who want their children fixed between the hours of 7 and 3.

By far the worst school in the district. Even the bus drivers hate dropping off and picking up at this school. Children are taught to be afraid of their own shadow and the curriculum is far behind not only other states but others in the district. They have yet to learn that if you make learning fun, kids will not only learn more quickly and accurately, but want to learn. After pulling our child and transferring her to another school in the district, her love and enthusiasm for learning returned as well as her grades. Before Hunter Street she had straight A's and couldn't wait to go to school. While at Hunter Street it was like pulling teeth to get her to go and her grades dropped. Now that she's been transfered...we're back to straight A's and happily awaking on school days. Avoid this school at all costs.
