Two children went through this school. It was by far the best experience of any school ever., Administration, Principal Murphy, Librarians, Teachers, Counselors, Part time Staff, Lunch and Nutrition, Janitorial are all excellent and invested in your child’s well being and education. There is a vibe at the school and its like a hug from the second you arrive until your kid graduates. Love this school. It goes beyond academic learning, it lays foundations for your kid to have the tools for personal integrity , ownership of actions and kindness. The volunteerism and community support — amazing. Its one of those schools where parents want to take part and all welcome!

Coastal Ridge is a U.S. Department of Education "2015 National Blue Ribbon Exemplary High Performing School." You can't get a higher award than that. Out of the 5 Elementary schools our children have attended (1 private, 4 public), CRES is the best. It is one big family. The principal is fantastic. The teachers love their students like their own children. The bucket-filling culture is wonderful; students are quite caring toward each other and respectful. The before, during, and after school fitness, academic, and recreational offerings are many and supported by the community. The vast majority of the staff have 1 or more graduate degrees. There are 4 special ed teachers, 2 occupational therapists, 2 literacy specialists, a speech-language pathologist, a Horizons specialist, and their school counselor was recently awarded 2016 School Counselor of the Year by the First Lady in a ceremony at the White House. The parents are very involved and sometimes come across as cliquish but it is a small town; over all they are very nice and helpful. We love to volunteer here. Our only complaint is that the town schools have banned birthday treats, but replacing them with t-shirt autographing is a great alternative. CRES has managed the recent integration of 2nd grade very well. The building and grounds are well kept. This school has had the least amount of bullying and social trouble of any we've attended. We were skeptical at first, but quickly agreed that CRES fully earns it's place in the top 0.25% of ALL U.S. schools.

Still a solid school. Declined slightly with a change of principals but the teachers are solid and the parents take an active role. Biggest complaint is that the parents aren't always listened to, at least not to the extent they should be. Well kept grounds, good physical plant, and good location - even if some think the traffic it causes twice a day is a nuisance (life is so hard for some people...). Major problem - they're heading down the "new math" pathway but that's a state-wide problem. It's an abomination but there is little to do to change that.
