Horrible. Got isolated and bullied, and all counselors were worried about was keeping me in the building.

Solid school that is being rebuilt! Unfortunately due to the high “diversity” Worcester schools rank a bit lower than the surrounding towns. Strip out the low achievers and you have solid students that consistently get into top colleges. Teachers are ok. Back when I attended, some of the teachers made class way too hard, but it seems as though things have improved significantly since I attended almost 10 years ago. As the older teaching staff retires, I’m sure things will continue to improve. The location is great! Located in the highly desirable west side area of Worcester.

Horrible! Setup is for failure. Lots of bullying, infringement on first admendent rights and poor quality staff.

The physical plant is 50 years old and shows signs of wear but there is no lack of enthusiasm by the teaching staff or the students. Consistently outscores statewide average. Very sociable and accepting student body with several large student groups that are subtly competitive culturally and academically. Had three children graduate from Doherty, each with multiple college options: now BSMe, BA&MA, Bmus. Highly recommend this high school. More diverse, more A/P than most suburban HS. This HS is at least an 8, not a 4. Doherty is a great urban high school in a suburban, residential area of the city. Young people love it. No one quits or transfers. The student mix is similar to many very large universities and they are well prepared for that environment when they graduate. Now my grandchildren go there. Doherty was their school of choice.

As soon as I walked into this school I had a bad feeling about it. I was miserable from the start, now in the process of transferring. Don't send your kids here! Awful!

I graduated in June 2011. Teachers love what they do. Most students love the friends they made and are a part of a great athletics tradition. Families love sending their kids to the multicultural and welcoming community Doherty offers. The structure could have some update/fixes. But the surrounding Newton hill and Elm Park stand nearby in majesty. I felt I became a leader surrounded by some of the greatest people in the world. I will always hold this place in my heart. Fight On, Highlanders.
