We love our St. Scholastica School: the teachers are great, the curriculum is great, and family-like school atmosphere is what makes our daughter feel happy and excited to go to school everyday. Definitely best school in the area.

One of the best curriculums for a catholic school. I appreciate middle school having weekly team building. A key in both higher grades and in the work force. Learning how to work well with others.

Great school that focuses on child's growth and academic excellence. School is quick and attentive to common school issues e.g. on bullying and safety issues

We have made it through 8th grade and right now have a 4th grade student. Our children love /loved going to school here. Our children are provided the support and encouragement needed and instill strong Catholic values along the way. St Scholastica has helped provided my children with a strong foundation to guide them through their journey. Our first child has transitioned to DGS HS well.

We love this school. All my kids went to St Scholastica and now my youngest is here as first grader. My daughters love going everyday and if I say they can stay for aftercare, they go bananas with excitement. Safe to say you can’t go wrong here. The academic classes, curriculum, teachers and staff we only have high praises. They will bring the best out of your child.

The school has been great and very welcoming to our family as a whole. The teachers try their best to ensure a top notch education. They’ve recently brought back some after school enrichment programs including chess club and stem which my kids are really excited about.

Have been a school family with 3 children for 12 years. It's a great community to be a part of.

We've been apart of the St Scholastica family for 9.5 years and absolutely love it. The education is like no other schools. They prepare your student for high school, college and life. My freshmen daughter is honors courses at DGS. Continues to use her Constitution notes from 7th and 8th grade in h.s. She has learned amazing study and homework habits. Our children not only establishes a solid educational foundation, but a moral compass that will help guide them during all situations. I think it is very unfortunate for some families not the feel the same. Ms. Driscoll is an amazing principle that people easily judge when not taking the time to talk to her. I will never forget in 5th grade at our Outdoor Education trip how she was able to show care and love for her students. A student became very scared when doing a zip line activity, was frozen and not able to move. Emotions were high, but Ms. Driscoll was able to comfort them and get them down without fail. I know first hand of families with children in learning disabilities who were able to approach Ms. Driscoll and their teachers to find a way to assist their child and become successful. I know of students taking exams in the office, students given exams verbally. Education is a multi-path street with the principle, teachers, administration, students AND PARENTS. In 2013 when my eldest started at STS I knew one thing. I don't know the families, but we have already a lot thing in common. We have the same values, same dreams for our children and that WE all want to be involved.

We had the worst experience at this school. Do not expect any type of genuine welcome or understanding from some of the staff, teachers, and particularly from the principal, Ms. Driscoll, especially if you are a transfer student. Unfortunately her way of dealing with any type of concern is to hand off to someone else or a third party so she does not have to deal with it. It was felt they knew best without getting the whole story from the student and making a decision not even knowing/meeting the student. Did you also know some of the subjects taught is at the same level, if not below, as what is taught at the public school? So why are you paying for private school? For the teachings of Catholicism? To teach our children about God and to love, support, and treat everyone with fairness, forgiveness? And yet some of the staff, teachers, students, parents, Principal that already attend did not have that same behavior towards us. It was very disappointing and disheartening. We were let down again by the Diocese of Joliet.

This is our first year at St Scholastica (after our kid's other school unexpectedly closed at the end of last year). The parents, teachers and facility have been nothing short of welcoming and outstanding.

We have been involved with the school for over 10 years. Initially we looked at the other neighboring schools and for whatever reason, we didn't think it was a good fit at the time. We are extremely happy that our children attend St. Scholastica. The teachers, staff and principal do their best and have genuine care for each child. The kids are also blessed with 2 wonderful priests who teach the faith and its core principles. The most unexpected blessing has been the families. Not only did our kids make lifelong friendships but so do the parents. The academics are good, which was an initial concern of ours, but our oldest started at a public Highschool and we feel he has adjusted well if not better than we had expected.

My family has been a part of the school for 12 years. We started at St Scholastica with my son in kindergarten because the extended care program offered at the time was strong than any other school in the area. We immediately fell in love with the school. The principal, staff, and families made the school feel like home. After the 1st principal we had retired, the new principal started telling all the parents what they wanted to hear and driving away many of the good teachers and families. That principal left after a few years, and the current principal took over, but not much has improved. The current principal is very straightforward and honest, but doesn't endear herself to the staff, students, or families easily. The current principal walked into a school in crisis and I believe she has stabilized things, but there is an uphill battle to bring this school back to what it once was. In 2021-2022, the school was unable to staff an advanced math teacher and the advanced students struggled to be engaged. Over the 12 years, we have always had a good experience with all of the teachers. The teachers communicate effectively with parents and always have the students best interest in mind.

St. Scholastica is a phenomenal school. From the principal to the teachers and all other supportive staff members there are personalized relationships and fantastic communication. The school has a rigorous learning environment coupled with so many fun and special activities for the children, which makes this an incredible learning environment. There are so many volunteer opportunities for parents, so you can be directly involved with the school and be a part of the experience. I can't say enough wonderful things about St. Scholastica.

My children have attended St. Scholastica since my oldest was in Kindergarten, she is now in 8th grade, so we have been thru a lot of changes and positives at this school. But what has kept us going to St. Scholastica is the community. Our girls have enjoyed growing up with a tight knit friend group and friends like family members that they have met along their journey. I have been on the parent organization, as well as a coach for their sports. Being involved and making this school and my children's education top priority is what makes this school a great one.

Being a member of St. Scholastica is truly being part of a family. The teachers know all the students, not just those in their classrooms. Communication is key, and availability of staff is excellent. Faith and character are emphasized, as well as academic learning. We were blessed to have both our children and grandchildren attend this school, and I can tell you it only keeps getting better!

My family has been a part of St Scholastica School for over 10 years. The community at the school has become a second family. My oldest was very prepared academically for high school after attending K-8th grade, is enrolled in honors and AP classes and has maintained honor roll status. My younger 2 children are still students there and are excelling. Teachers really get to know the students and want them to do well. I’d recommend the school to anyone looking for a great school community!

St. Scholastica has been a Godsend for my family. My children attended another Catholic school in the area that abruptly closed last year. Though at the time it was devastating, I can honestly say that the move to St. Scholastica has been a blessing for us. The administration, teachers and parent community at St. Scholastica are more wonderful than I ever could have imagined. My children were terrified to start a new school without many of their friends, but the entire St. Scholastica community went above and beyond to welcome us into their community. Communication and safety are top priorities, and the St. Scholastica administration has done an amazing job of creating an environment that encourages academic excellence and student wellness. My children wake up excited to go to school, which to me speaks volumes! I am so grateful that we chose St. Scholastica for our family and whole-heartedly recommend it.
