I would give Forsyth Academy a 0 if I could.I attended this school from 3rd grade to mid 7th, and it was horrible. The food was awful - the school is too small for a cafeteria, so they had cardboard stands. The milk was never in a freezer and was often warm or hot. My main problem was that they only treated me kindly when I got straight A’s and made their test scores look good. At the beginning of 7th grade year I fell into a deep depression, which made my grades and mental health drop exponentially. The admins immediately told my parents that I should transfer schools and that they “didn’t know how such a smart girl could turn into this”. They looked at me like I was dangerous and KICKED ME OUT. I was never, ever violent or disrespectful to anyone at this school, which is why I find it funny that they never said a word to the boy who had frequent mental breakdowns that were so severe and violent that the classroom had to be evacuated until he calmed down. Unbelievable. As a current high schooler, I look back on this school as a place who only cared for me when I made them look good; just another number among the score. It still hurts me. Don’t send your children here. It’s only gotten worse.

This is a terrible school! If I could rate this school a zero I would.1. The communication is terrible. I've reached out to the Principal Christy Harnsberger several times and no call back the one call back I returned the call immediately and she was heading out the door. And since then nothing despite me calling and requesting a call back.2. There was a incident where one of my children were injured he told several teachers and the office and they neglected to notify me.3.There is constant fights where the teachers are not paying attention and I have to rely on my twins to tell me what happened or other students as a result of the negligence on the adults responsible for watching the children at recess and the constant fights the children are separated by what the staff has advised the children as "boarders" at recess.I transferred my twins from Bolton Elementary and deeply regret that decisionMy boys never got in fights and did not have any of these issues at Bolton Elementary. Staff at Bolton were quick to return a call especially the principal. I thought this would be a great opportunity for my children and have been extremely disappointed by the constant non stop issues. My twins had to on several occasions defend themselves, staff would give many excuses even using COVID as a excuse. My twins went to Bolton Elementary for a full year after COVID and attended Bolton prior to COVID and in all of their time at Bolton didn't have a fraction of the issues they had with violence and bullying at this school.Since this post I have withdrew my twins from this school. Only then did I get a return call from National Heritage Academies asking why.

The school was miserable and punishing. They couldn't afford to provide us real lunch during lunch time and often served us breakfast instead. They couldn't afford our 5th grade field trip, so they decided to make an excuse as to why we can't go. The only reason I'm giving this a 3 star rating is because of the handful of amazing teachers that taught there. One being Ms. Brown and Ms. Larned. Overall, if you want your child to hate you, send them to this school!

So far I would give them 5 stars because they keep trying to improve each year!

School administration is concerned with the $3k plus that they get for each student each month.

Please think twice about allowing your child to attend this school. This school isn't interested in parental input, about how their staff conducts themselves when dealing with parents. A parent's concern or suggestions about how to improve the school is not welcomed or appreciated. When you do speak up in, what is known as the parent satisfaction surveys and once it is shared with the leadership members of the school and other staff members; needless to say the attitude that is received by the staff members mentioned within the survey, is nasty, discourteous and unprofessional. The leadership of this school sets the tone for an environment that is less than habitable for parental involvement. Forsyth Academy's priorities are fundraising, disregarding valid issues, unprofessional behavior, and dismissing their own moral focus values.

I'm not a parent of a child who attends or has attended Forsyth Academy. I am a parent of a special needs child in a regular WS/FC school. I have visited several school over the past couple of month trying to transfer my child to a school that would best fit him ans meet his educational needs. Out of all of the schools I visited Forsyth Academy was the cleanest and by far the quietest. When I toured the office staff was very polite. The teachers invited us into the classrooms to watch. The student in the halway spoke in passing. And even though it was crowded due to all the desks and students receiving extra help in the hallways....I was so very please to see that the students were actually receiving extra help. In our current school we have 1 resource teacher that helps children who need help. At Forsyth Academy, I'm not sure if these were Resourse Teachers or not...but the fact that they were helping children who needed extra help blew my mind. You would never see that where my child is now. The lunch room staff was professional and polite...even helped a child tie their shoe. When we toured the upper level grades the students were all on task. I liked the camera in the hallway.

My son attended this school in 2010. It was a bad experience. I found out while we were attending FA my son had a learning disability and they just gave him an IEP with his name on it. They do not provide any services or resources. Don't waste your time going to this school if your child has learning issues because they do nothing.

My children attended Forsyth Academy during the 2012-2013, my daughter was in third grade and my son was in first grade. We were interested in this school because it it a charter school and for our surprise their performance that year was so poor that it was almost a focus school. Our experience was very unpleasant, the student-teacher ratio was ridiculous, the children spent all day in one classroom ( no cafeteria- they actually ate inside of the classroom) and the after school program is horrible. The very same tired and burn out teachers that teach thtem during the day watch them after school so just imagina the kind of care that the kids will be receiving, If you are concern about finding a good school please do your research before choosing Forsyth Academy.

the teachers and their emphasis on learning and the students is awesome. however, the school is overcrowded and you can barely get down the hallways w/out running into tables full of students getting additional help. while i LOVE most of the teachers my children have had I am pulling them out for regular public schools this year. My oldest child has a teacher that lets other students "monitor" each other and this is affecting a lot of children negatively in terms of behavior. also, my one dealing w/ the principal did not leave me feeling like she cared one way or the other about my concerns. but i do have to say I absolutely love most of the teachers k-3 anyway. .

Forsyth Academy. I have worked at this school for many years. Even as a teacher, I can honestly say that I have gained knowledge from students, staff members, and parents. Every day is a growing experience and I treasure my experiences at this wonderful school.

This is a horrible school. There are ghetto students, lazy teachers, and poor academics. I would NOT recommend this school.

Great school! Awesome staff and teachers! It is like one big family! We went from homeschooling to WSFC schools for one year and this is our second year at Forsyth Academy, where we plan to remain through 8th grade. The teachers and staff are awesome. You don't to worry about certain teachers who shouldn't be teachers-, yelling, screaming, potty talk, attitudes etc like in the regular public schools where their jobs are protected by the teachers union...teachers are evaluated and rated by fellow staff, principals AND parents here!! Their pay is based on their performance and feedback from parents and associates! Our experience so far is that they all go above and beyond! They also have a very structured and disciplinarian plan THAT WORKS!!! The overall student behavior here is much better than our experience in the County/City School.
