Every classroom is very inviting and willing to show you what the children are working on.

My daughter has attended Bluffview Montessori School from Pre-K to 8th grade and it is truly an Exceptional place. The teachers and staff are invested in every children’s education and their growth as learners. The teachers bring out the best in every child by tapping into their individual strengths, while creating an environment of kindness, responsibility, and leadership. If you are considering a school, please reach out to them, take a tour, and meet some of the amazing staff.

We brought both our kids here from the public school hoping for a positive experience. This was not the case. The school's leadership showed bias and discrimination. Many of the teachers are not Montessori trained and they lack oversight. My kids received a poor education and are learning more and being extremely successful in a different district. Our main decision to remove our kids was due to me and my children being harassed by a teacher and the leadership allowed it to happen and showed little respect for my family's safety. There are a handful of great people at Bluffview, but in my opinion is tarnished by a severe lack of compassion and professionalism of the leadership and an unfit teacher. The poor education stems from the lack of oversight, the Montessori method not being properly applied, and very little teamwork across the levels. In the last couple of years, they lost three Montessori teachers that were replaced with non Montessori trained ones.

We have had four kids go through this school, and all have had a very positive experience. The ones who have graduated like to go back to visit and have been very well prepared for their high school and college exerience.

The leadership/head of school is continuously a disappointment. She is weak in every aspect of a leader.

Bluffview Montessori has been a wonderful experience for my children. They have shown me that the teachers have a real passion for teaching kids to not only have a successful education, but to become successful adults and members of a community.

Bluffview offers the unique opportunity for children to learn time management skills as they are working through their daily schedules. Bluffview allows children to seek out subjects they enjoy while working with the children to engage areas they may struggle. Bluffview is the only elementary/middle school in Winona I wanted my children to attend.

Bluffview Montessori school has been a great school for our two daughters (K and 2). Like other parents have said, they are given the opportunity to excel when ready and support when they need help. We have reviewed other options and feel this is the best school environment for them.

Bluffview Montessori school offers a wonderful, enriching, and challenging educational environment for it's students. Students develop a love for learning that they carry for a lifetime.

I chose this school because it was a charter school and the Montessori method was also something I was looking for in a school. Ally children have done very well at Bluffview, often find they excel above their peers. The small class sizes and individual support are great benefits offered by this school. And, the teachers are excellent!!!

We have been every fortunate to find Bluffview Montessori school for our two sons. In 2003, we were refered to Bluffview by two 4.0 grade graduates of Cotter High School. They said that without their start at Montessori, the chances that they would have been so successful in high school were slim. How could we ask for a better reference than that ? Our boys have been at Bluffview since then, starting in Children's house, the early education kindergarten classes. We appreciate the teachers and the closeness of the Bluffview community and we're confident that we made the right choice. Our son's educations are off to a great start. We are confident that they both are off to a great start.

Bluffview has been a great learning environment for our kids. They are valued for who they are, encouraged to be themselves, able learn at their own level and are not forced into a pre-made mold of expectations. Our child who needed extra academic help has been able to get focused one on one attention and is doing great. The small community environment has kept our older child accountable for his behavior and learning. And the staff actually know who my kids are and who I am.

Bluffview Montessori is a school that encourages a love of learning. Both of my kids look forward to each school day. The teachers know each child's learning style and nurture that individuality. I love the multi-age classroom. My kids have learned how to be leaders, teachers and friends of younger students as well as loving to ask questions and look for guidance and friendship from older students. Our school has an atmosphere of respect and acceptance that is very welcoming. Our teachers have been exceptional during our 10yrs at Bluffview. They encourage creativity as well as responsibility and productivity. They inspire and encourage curiosity and the gathering of knowledge in our children. They make sure that they are being challenged by the work they are doing in the classroom. Bluffview was the right choice for our family.

Both my boys attended Bluffview pre-K through 8th grade. They learned to be curious, independent learners, one is completing college with a double major in computer science and music performance, the other will soon finish his junior year of high school and loves both science and music. Bravo Bluffview!

Bluffview Montessori ~ we chose this school because of the way in empowers children to learn at their pace and not the classroom's pace. We have 1 child that needs more attention and another child that learns faster and needs to be challenged more. We have been so blessed with the teachers and amazed at with the Montessori method ~ I wish I would have been exposed to this way of learning when I was in school. The teachers and staff keep parents informed of what is happening in the classrooms and school effectively. The school motto of respect yourself, respect the environment, and respect others show the children core values to keep throughout life. With funding, our school would be able to improve on the ability to enhance staffing and add on to our curriculum (ie. foreign language)

This is a great school. We frankly cannot leave Winona because how would we ever find a gem like this again? It's a shame people often misunderstand Montessori method, because in many ways it is just educational commonsense. We have four kids there of varying academic abilities and they all thrive. The school's focus on music and the arts is also very impressive...much more than you get at other local schools.

Bluffview Montessori creates a wonderful learning environment for children and is responsive to parent concerns. Our son has generally thrived at Bluffview and, in the times when he has struggled, the school has been very supportive, listened to our concerns and helped us find solutions. No school is perfect all the time, but the best schools respond to problems with sensitivity and grace. Bluffview is such a school.

We recently adopted 4 children through foster care. Having moved here 8 years ago with our 5 children, we settled them into the schools and they graduated. Now with the blessing of our younger four children through adoption and learning difficulties, we tried two other schools , and then landed at Bluffview. Our children's spirit to learn is on fire. Their unique individual needs are being met at school, in addition to the fact that they love their school. There is a mutual respect between the teachers and students. Character is taught and encouraged as well. Bluffview is small enough, that the children all know each other and mentor one another. Parent involvement is highly encouraged and welcomed.

This is a nice school and a welcome change from the sterile environment found in most of the public schools in district 861. Education in this town is underfunded all the way around. It would be interesting to see what this school could do if they had a proper budget. The teachers are fantastic and are certainly not here to get rich. The student population is probably the most accepting and inclusive bunch of kids I've ever witnessed. That last point is what most impresses me about the Bluffview community.

This was the only school in town that we wanted our child to attend. The teachers and staff are amazing and responsive to every child's needs. In an era of "standardized" education the Montessori method is refreshing! It allows each child to reach their full potential in a way that is both challenging and interesting to her or him. Our child has thrived in this learning environment both academically and socially. The student body is very caring, welcoming and supportive -- a wonderful group of young people that make the world a better place. Love this school! =)
