As a former student at wediko I would say that the residential councilors were amazing, caring, helpful and overall amazing people. However the program supervisor, program director and the parent company of wediko ruined the amazing place it was. Changing it from a therapeutic, safe and healing environment into an understaffed, unsafe, un-theraputic and toxic environment. All of the negatives aside the school program was amazing and helped a lot with academic success. Just please don’t send your kids to the residential program until Betsy Oswalt is no longer directing the program. She abuses power and treats kids that she has a personal problem with horribly.

Wediko has been a life changing experience for our family. Our son has been there two years, and is graduating this summer. I think the first question any parent has when they are considering this type of school is whether their child will be safe and how they will be treated by the staff. Our son has formed strong and warm relationships with the staff, and feels that he can go to them to work through any issues he is having. He has grown socially and emotionally, and now has options as to where he goes next -- which is far from the previous situation. When we started at Wediko, we were quite desperate and our son was anxious, aggressive and out of control. He now understands how his behavior affects others, has developed strong, positive coping skills, and is a delight to be around. We owe a debt of gratitude to this fine institution.

Wediko is a fabulous school. Our son is finishing his 12 month stay and is a totally different child. I honestly do not know what we would have done had we not found this wonderful school. And our son loves it too!
