This has been the most amazing school for both my children. All the teachers and staff exude such positive, excited, infectious attitudes towards learning. They are all very invested in every child's success. One of my children is very gifted, while the other has struggled, and both of them have gotten what they needed from this school- either a challenge or extra help. I have always felt supported as a parent. Many parents support the school and come out to the events; it's a strong pillar in the community. We have been to 3 different school districts in the upstate (Pickens, Greenville and now ADS1), and this by far to me is the best. The principal knows all the children and makes it a point to call them by name, and make them feel loved and important. The only thing that I think needs to be addressed is perhaps a bit more homework. Also spelling should have been a focal point as well, but they have seen that, and are making that adjustment this year. They did an excellent job during Covid-19 and having to suddenly do learning from home, too. I felt that they kept us informed and had some good practices in place for teaching, questions, and making sure the students all had their assignments and understood them. Basically-- WE LOVE THIS SCHOOL!!

Not the worst school in area, but definitely below average elementary in an already below average state level comparable to national averages

My daughter attended this school for k5. She actually fell behind in her learning and hated school after attending just a semester here. The principals are rude and down right mean. They actually told us they do not encourage parents to be involved due to the high number of parents that are incarcerated (in jail). They do not have safety patrol in the car line like surrounding schools do, and didn't even bother to give a reason why. So when you drop off your kid you are welcomed by folks who have disgusted looks on their faces and act like being there is a burden. Also the teacher my daughter had was rude and talked down to her and others and when called out on this the school did nothing. WE DON'T accept any teacher being a bully to our kid or others. Also when a kid first loves learning and going to school then goes to a school that changes that there is obviously something VERY wrong with the staff at the school! This year (1st grade) we avoided that school like a plague because of this experience and sent our kid to home school. Well for her 2nd year we are trying to get her into another school in the same district, right now it will be over my dead body before she steps foot back into Palmetto.

This is a WONDERFUL school! I literally cannot say enough good things about this school. My two sons go here and they are both special needs. It was difficult at first for both of them to start school, but the teachers here have made all the difference in the world! Now they both LOVE going and they are both doing excellent. That is so important and I feel at ease knowing they are being well taken care of each and every day, while their teachers are doing everything they can to make sure they stay on track academically. My youngest needs certain accommodations, but his teacher (Mrs. Meares) makes sure that he gets what he needs. She is absolutely amazing!
