Positive and nurturing overall. Focus on kids and not political correctness.

The Teachers are highly educated - some are child caring. Reading program is strong - Math and other subjects are weak. Very poor, ineffective, abstract Phonics programs with excessive, time wasting testing. They should model N. Muskegon's successful program. Age appropriate is key. Frequent changes in Principals have made continuity an issue. Also, some have had little/no experience. The Building is fairly new & nice. Security is low. Maintaining extra curriculum classes is a plus for students - but money seems to be wasted in noneducational ways & added Administrative positions. Parents show a lot of concern & involvement. Nice community.

This is a great school. When many local schools are cutting programs, my kids still have art, music, computers, and this year they even added a program called "Leadership". The only thing more I could want is a foreign language. The staff really cares about the kids and wants them to learn.

The school has a wonderful, caring staff. Everyone is friendly, the school is small enough that the teachers and students know each other but large enough to offer advanced programs to students that excel. My child has attended from kindergarten through 2nd grade and has had excellent teachers.
