This is one of the worst schools in district 214, the lowest. I honestly don't understand why parents, students, and teachers say this is better than Prospect or Hersey academically, Despite what they say about the programs they offer to students. Most of them don't really care about their classes or even their goals after high school. Whenever someone struggles in one of their classes, instead of the teachers helping them, they mostly put them in lower-level classes that aren't college-ready. The teachers and staff members are rude, disrespectful to students, and even racist despite being one of the most diverse schools. Bullying is way worse than what they say. I've been called racist slurs by students and the staff didn't do their best to stop this. There are gangs, drugs, and fights every now and then, and yet they say it's one of the safest. If you are reading this and live in the wheeling boundary, I recommend you move out of the area or transfer somewhere else.

Some people can't understand why some families don't want to put their kids in Wheeling high school? Because of liw education, because of some population, because they don't have dress codes, because of teachers with a body art on their body. ,,,,, because of piercing and all this horrible things. Very low education, this why European parents and normal Americans families wants move to better area with a better schools,

I think that the greatschools.org rating is very misleading and I'm so glad I disregarded it. Both of my children are currently students at Wheeling High School. As a parent, I feel very safe and secure sending my children there. Both children are in AP classes and several activities. My daughter is the editor of the newspaper and does an internship with the school daycare, The Little Wildcats. My son is in orchestra, cross country, and track and field. Both have received support from their deans, counselors, teachers and staff when they had personal setbacks. Both are getting a great education and having a wonderful time. The student body is very diverse, with representation from nations all over the world. It feels more like a college campus than a high school in that sense.

The school goes above and beyond for their students. The school encourages them to strive towards education! Very content with the teachers and the district.

Prepare the students for those that want to attend college and also for those that want to pursue a vocation. Many students graduate with jobs wainting in the health fields including CNAs

My son and daughter both graduated here. They had a fantastic education. My son graduated from Columbia and daughter from De Paul. My daughter is currently finishing her masters program at the University of Colorado. Wheeling has the best fine arts program in the state. We found all the personal involvement from the staff made Wheeling the best kept secret in the northwest suburbs. I would highly recommend Wheeling over Hersey, Buffalo Grove or Stevenson. Wheeling is a smaller school and gives the students a more personal experience.

This school is so great. I don't understand why others think Wheeling is an inferior school. We have good classes, happy students, and great teacher and staff. I'm proud to be a wildcat and I think people really need to give Wheeling a chance. This is by far the best school in district 214. When I was at BG I didn't feel as respected and cared for as I did for Wheeling.

A wide variety of students and a culture of acceptance, as well as concerned, intelligent staff members make this a top school. Two of my sons attended a private prep school, but my daughter chose to go to Wheeling because of the top rated band and other cultural advantages that weren't offered at the prep school. We now wish we had sent all of our children to Wheeling.

My daughter is about to graduate from Wheeling. I don't understand the assumed inferior quality of the school. We have found it to be staffed by highly motivated people who truly care about educating the kids for the future. I believe Principal Lopez is to be credited for having created such a high quality staff. Hopefully Principal Sisi will be as strong a director. The diversity of the school is nothing more than a picture of the world around us; many colors and cultures. That's the real world and I am extremely happy that my daughter got to attend this school. She is well prepared for the next step, college, and the teachers at Wheeling helped communicate the fact that the entire world is open to her. Thanks Wheeling!

As a student that has graduated from Wheeling, this is one of the best high schools I have been too. The teachers are supportive, the other students are friendly and the activites encourge parent support. As a choir student, this school also has one of the best music programs in District 214. I wish I could be in Wheeling right now!

Wheeling is a wonderful school. I'm currently a student here and i truly love everything about Wheeling. I many friends who go to other schools like Buffalo Grove and Hersey, and they all look down on Wheeling. It has a bad reputation, but it really is a great school. The teachers are delightful, and what is crazy about Wheeling is that I never want to leave. At the end of everyday, if i don't have any after school activities, i go to the foyer (basically, the heart of the school) and see whats going on. There is always something to do at Wheeling. I love Wheeling and I'll always be a Wildcat.

Wheeling is such a diverse and wonderful school. There have been misrepresentations that have carried on from the past, but things have changed dramaticly. People need to realize that and have an open mind to how things are today. The teachers and students accept each other and it gives a "real life" surrounding. We have display of cultures, which is a day when all different cultures set up tables of different countries to learn more about them during the day. There are also performances in the theatre of dancing, singing, poetry, etc. Wheeling achieves well in academics as well. All teachers are more than happy to help their students succeed. I honestly wouldn't want to go anywhere else :)
