This school is fundamentally flawed. Structurally all K-3 elementary schools feed into Mill Pond creating an environment of a premature middle school for 4-6 graders. Kids this age are not ready for this environment. The school is too big for an elementary school and students make friends one year and then the next year they may hardly see each other because the kids are in separate halls and lunch rotations. The administration tends to favor kids with behavioral problems and continuously gives those kids a pass when they bully or threaten other kids. Communication with the administration in general is very frustrating. Overall we have been happy with the teachers.

This school is a good school. The staff are welcoming and friendly. The school is nice and the school day flows well. And the curriculum is good overall.However, some rules don’t make sense and aggravate myself and other students. There are also parts of the curriculum that are too easy, such as the fractions unit and place value. The science is interesting and the same for social studies, ELA is okay I don’t have anything bad to say about it. The only thing left is the students, most are friendly but the dynamic of having to insult people is really irritating, why should you have to insult someone to be cool. There are students who are trying to break people down, they whisper behind your back and make snide comments about you, the only reason this is not 4 stars is because of those people, and as a new kid it’s hard being a target for those people.

A good school is one where average students are provided more encouragement and opportunities to participate in class rooms. All fifth grade teacher in my child's class favor students doing well. Teachers are immature in that they form a bias against a child easily for very minor things. All they do is conveniently blame the student for poor performance and not supporting the student. I find that they are constantly trying to push parent's to sign up for IEP testing.

I am having a hard time setting up a parent teacher conference with my daughter's teacher. The one teacher who has contacted me at all has been the fourth grade band director.Going through her English Language Arts folder a few days ago, I find papers with uncorrected spelling and grammatical errors. I thought that was a responsibility of teaching--helping students learn from their mistakes.It's hard to believe Westborough Public Schools are so highly rated. I had a far more pleasant experience with Armstrong Elementary School & its Principal & staff.

This school has an unbelievable atmosphere. They are immersed in Character Education with their key values that carry out throughout the school. The supports they have in place for struggling students is remarkable... Math plus tutors, reading specialists, special Ed staff and programs, co-taught inclusion classrooms, the list goes on. The staff are all well trained and the best of the best. Can't say enough good things about this school.

Mill Pond School needs to work hard on the teachers quality they choose.Teachers have to be well efficient and understand the needs of children academically and personally and should be self efficient to handle everything.

I think teaching bright kids is not a very big deal. They can pick up anyways. The challenge is to bring below average kids up to the next level and build confidence in them. I don't see this school is doing needful in this regard. There are enough staff to teach different subjects and disciplines. They should use their experience in solving the kid's problems instead of complaining like kids.
