Last year at Grassy Waters was nothing but excellent. From the receptionist to the teachers, and all the way to the principal, every aspect was outstanding. If you ask me what a perfect school looks like, I would say Grassy Waters last year reflected exactly that. They left no room for complaints.I got even luckier when my son found himself in Ms. Goris's class. It was like winning the lottery.Ms. Goris is truly the best teacher in the world. Her dedication and phenomenal work with the students at Grassy Waters Elementary School are unparalleled. She embodies the dream teacher every parent wishes for their autistic child, providing exceptional support, understanding, and encouragement. Her commitment and expertise make a profound difference in the lives of her students and their families. The school is amazing.Thank you so much.GG. Samuel's dad

mind you my son has autism... there is hardly any homework, If any, I have no idea what my son is learning unless I ask him.. school is uninviting. teachers don't seem as dedicated to helping him as his other schools did. Morning car drop off line is long, expect at least ten minutes in line and you my be late if you try to get there on time. on a positive note he has learned a lot of new knowledge.

I found it unacceptable, unprofessional, substandard, uninviting, and poorly run.

I've had one kid go through five years of school at GW, and a second partway through her fourth year. These teachers work really hard in and outside the classroom to help the kids grow. I've visited with the art teacher at a district showcase and a math teacher at an Academic Games competition. They go the extra mile, and I know it's helped my kids.

I love this school. I wish it were rated higher as much as I love it... I am concerned what if this isn't the best opportunity for her? I can just hope my experiences stay positive. My daughter is definitely gifted and I don't want to put out that fire

Excellent!Very True - The ASD Team is amazing, from the ESE Coordinator to the teachers . They go above and beyond to make sure our children get everything they need. Even after I moved in the area I still kept my son there. I could not ask for better environment for my low functioning son on the spectrum. His teachers, Ms. Tolbert and Ms. Cotton are what I consider "Angels"... I will recommend parents to send their children to Grassy Waters. The School District should allocate more ressouces to these teachers including training and material...

This school does a great job with my children. They love the teachers. Admin is knowledge and works well with families. They do many fun events with the kids and really focus on them as people, not just test scores.

I have had the most support from my child's teachers and administrators. Both my children need special attention and by far I have never had a hiccup when it comes down to care and reliability. All the teachers and staff are friendly and know my kids by name.

Grassy Waters is one of the best schools in the area. A hard working, supportive principal and assistant principal are the backbone to a wonderful and highly effective institution. The teachers and staff simply love what they do and are the best of the best. The curriculum is very rigorous, but presented in a way that is both accessible and meaningful for all learners. And while all students are expected to meet high grade level standards, teachers expertly differentiate to provide students with the right amount of challenge to meet their needs and help them grow. If your child needs a greater academic challenge than provided by the regular curriculum, they will be given it. If they need more support in order to come to a point of independently mastering the curriculum, they will be given that support , as well. The teachers work tirelessly to assure that no student slips through the cracks while working towards their grade level and individual goals. If I had elementary aged children, I would definitely entrust them in the capable hands of the Grassy Waters family.

We also would like to extend a heartfelt "welcome to the family" to all our new students and families. Grassy Waters is a fabulous school. Our faculty and staff are top notch. We moved here from NY state and were very nervous about sending our daughter to this school. We absolutely love it. Everyone has been so kind and welcoming. Her kindergarten teacher and the support staff are wonderful! Academically our daughter has been challenged by the curriculum, but at the same time excited about learning.

All this school cares about is the FCAT. The principal is all about her, not the kids. This school needs to offer clubs like many other elementary schools do. Since class time is so limited clubs would be an asset. The kids need to be exposed to more than just FCAT and diaognistics.

I have two kids in Grassy Waters. We moved here from Georgia which required the kindergarden class to know 100+ words by the end of the year which my son was the first to accomplish but now my daughter doesnt have that goal in Grassy Waters her goal is to learn 25 words for the year which she has already learned within the first month and a half since school started. Now I will be teaching her the other 75+ words that I feel that she should also be learning in school. I have no problem with teaching her at home but I also feel like the standards are too low. I also feel like they need to follow a set curriculum.
