A large variety of programs and curriculum for students. Recently added advanced classes for students excelling in standard classes. Students are able to acquire high school credits while attending Franklin Middle School.

A handful of teachers are good at this school but the rest are only as good as the leader...the principal is NOT a good leader, counselors dont call you back, children are not properly prepared for high school. The kitchen staff screamed at me and hung up the phone when i had to request special lunches for my dietary restricted daughter. After telling the principal, of course she never followed up with me about it. The principal enforced one way hallways which make the kids late for class. Teacher conferences are chaotic. The parking lot is an unorganized disaster. I cant wait for this year to end so my daughter can go to a different school. One good thing about this school...they have a school nurse.

i am currently a student at this school and i hate it! last tear they implemented this ine way hallways and it makes everyone tardy. the new principal is giving us new rules like we cant hug out friends in the hallway and even touch eachother. are you joking? how is that gonna affect our education? and now if we get a tardy we get a lunch detention. there are wayyyy too many tardies for them to give out a lunch detention every time simeone gets a tardy. most of the teachers do nothing about discipline in the classroom and its a horrible learning environment. i cant wait until i can go to wayne and be in high school ugh

There is a one way hallway that makes us get tardies all the time. There is unkind, rude, mean, selfish students. There is always fights. People doesn't look at people for who they realy are, it all depends on what you have or wear. You can't do self-defense if someone is beating you up. And the code of conduct said that you can't cut or dye your hair in various ways. Some teachers are there to help children and some is not.

Love the teaching staff! Couldn't ask for a better group! Not as happy with the office workers. The one sitting up front is loud, and spends a LOT of time wandering around with no goal in mind. She also tends to snap at the other secretary, and uses foul language in front of students and visitors. Too bad she brings down the impression of the school.

This is the worst school that I have ever placed my child in! And he use to be in Detroit Public Schools which was horrible yet better then this school. My son has been harassed, picked on, and profilled and all this is just by the staff. I feel like our children should be able to go to school and get a quality education without all the harassment. I have went to the board and got absolutely no where. I feel that the camaras in the school are a false sense of security for the parents. I moved to Westland trying to give my children a better life and this school alone is messing up my childs futrue. I feel like if the staff spent more time getting to the bottom of the real issues the school wouldn't have half as many problems as it does. My son was jumped on and because he defended him self he was ticketed by the police. All I want is to be able to send my children to school and know that they are in a safe place and I don't feel that way with this school! This school Does have great teachers if your child is allowed to make it to class. Because of this school I am moving out of Westland. I want the best for my children and in my eyes this school is the worst!

as for Franklin Middle School I will be happy when my child goes to high school ever since the reorg of the school all that did was hurt the kids the principal at Franklin is blame throughing toward the kids and no adult has a handle on any activities going on at that school. everytime I am at the office the teachers have sent kids to the office fofr the secretarys to babysit. as far as i am concern this school is a joke and should be shut down completly. how can they think that principal has a handle on things everytime i hear from a parent there all they can do is complain and complaining to the school boad does no good either
