Last year, under a different principal, the school appeared safe and progressive for such a small district. This year, under a new principal, I am witnessing a lot of the same dismissal of bullying issues that I had thought I had left behind in a much larger school district. When children are dealing with bullying the administration accuses them of being a behavior problem rather than addressing the issue. It is the same "blame the victim until they are quiet" mentality I thought we were leaving behind. Bullying is suppressed rather than discouraged. This is definitely not a school for anyone with a learning disability, but sadly rather average for a public school district in Illinois from my experience.
