Starbuck isn't just another small PreK-4 school.. Starbuck is a family! It's been the biggest part of our family for the last 5 years! We learn together, work together, play together, laugh together.. But the most meaningful was the first day in PreK. At that point, walking away & leaving my scared little girl for the 1st time, was the hardest thing i had ever done! I was the last to leave, the halls were empty. As they closed the door, I walked away crying.. Then I felt a hand on my shoulder and a loving voice tell me "you're gonna do great mommy!" (: It was Mr.Taylor the principal <3 That day was the beginning of our new family! Starbuck isn't just family, it IS what it is- A STAR! (: <3

My child goes to Starbuck Elementary. She has since preK. I am very pleased with this small but integrated school. The teachers are amazing, some more strict then others but over all a very good mix. I don't know the new principal very well, but I think she has adjusted well. The bus system is always a little wacky because the buses also pick up kids from North Elementary School. This year the kids haven't done as many community orientated events as in the past but my overall opinion is 3.5-4.0 stars. There is always room for improvements.

My son attended Starbuck from Kindergarten through 2nd grade. We are military and leaving Fort Drum now. I was very uneasy about sending my child to the city school. I can tell you that I LOVE the school! I had some issues with my son but the teachers, staff and principal all were there to help. Each teacher was involved and kept me informed anytime, and were quick to respond. The Principal is awesome and cares for the children, his character displays this. I would highly recommend this school. There is a bigger school down the street (North Elem) but I love the smaller feel of Starbuck.

My daughter has attended Starbuck for ~3 years now. I am so sad that this will be her last year there. There are so many great advantages about allow your child to attend this school: *Amazing Principal!!! He really loves his students and is genuinely concerned about their well being. Keeps a smile on his face and encourages the kids to do so as well. *Wonderful nurse- (My daughter knows her well.) She is very KIND and caring toward her. Never overly dramatic or passive about my daughter's health. *Great teachers- Currently, small classes/one teacher per grade. I love it! And for the first time, I really love the music teacher! *Great Academic programs. Innovative ways to keep the student interested and challenge their little brains : ) *It was remodeled within the last couple years -and it looks great! I usually do not write reviews but when I saw a low rating for Starbuck, I had to give honor where honor is due...
