Putting my 9th grader at STG Academy has been a game changer. My daughter is thriving in the environment provided by staff and faculty. I highly recommend STG Academy to everyone.

You will not find a better more diverse school anywhere in Washington county. The teachers are professor levels. This is a “college prep” school. As far as I know it is the only one in the area. The students feel valued and are not governed by local culture and politics. The staff and students are highly intelligent and thrive at this school. It is not perfect. Some of the same issues you have at all schools you still have here. However, everyone is treated like a human with their unique variations with respect and honor. Personal attention is given to anyone who struggles. This is a non-traditional learning environment for this area. They have been trying to shut the school down before it was even built. So far they haven’t succeeded but they are still trying. Intelligent Free thinkers are not promoted in utah culture. This school makes all the difference for this area. It has literally saved lives of students who had otherwise given up. It has welcomed students that would have been bullied or were bullied like my son at other schools. The school does not turn a blind eye to bullying and because of that the bully rate is low. This school is the example of how all schools should be run. The old traditional way does work anymore and probably never did. So, should your kid choose Saint George Academy above other schools? YES. The surrounding environment has not supported the school like it has the others so there has been a lot of hurdles and blocks to the schools growth. Don’t let that deter you. My son was ready to give up and hated school and he has done nothing but flourish in this environment. So yes. Bring your kid here if you want them to be valued and educated at a higher level.

This school is run like a private college prep school but is a free public charter. The standards and education is higher in a lot of areas. Students are learning well beyond their grade level. Current ratings on this page do not reflect “actual” school information. The webpage information needs to be updated and clarified because the rating does not reflect the truth of the school. This is a non-tradition school for this area and most of the time local politics gets in the way of reflecting true ratings which should be way higher. Kids thrive at this school.

The rating I would give SGA is easily a 10 out of 10! The teachers go above and beyond for my needs in academics and social interaction. Other schools are giving SGA a rating that it doesn't deserve. It is the best high school in Southern Utah.
