Our daughter goes to PRE-K3 here... I am so impressed by the quality of the teachers, administration, and staff. Great playground, both the larger one for the older kids and the dedicated Pre-K playground. Couldn't be happier!

We have 2 kids at Seaton Elementary school. The teacher to kids ratio in the classrooms is about 1:12, which is a great learning environment for the children. My daughter's kindergarten class has a primary teacher and an assistant teacher with about 12 children. During the pandemic, the virtual learning for my other child was phenomenal. They have a lot of great classes, like mindfulness, book club, Spanish, art and so on. The principal is very hands-on and pretty much knows all the children by name (at least it feels that way) and is very welcoming.

I have a grandchild at Seaton and as I compare their education to that of my other grandchildren (who live in more privileged areas of the US) Seaton comes up favorably. I see my grandchild growing as a child with appropriate knowledge for age, encouragement to growth and community, and a living appreciation of the advantages of diversity. Every time I visit the school I am impressed by the leaders, the teachers, the upkeep of the facilities, and the PTO support of students and parents across the economic spectrum. There is a real effort made to be inclusive.

I have my children in this school. They are in 5th grade and kindergarden. The experience has been satisfactory and amazing, because the teachers and other people are very helpful.

My child is in PK3 and this school has been above and beyond expectations -- great facility (huge and well-outfitted classroom!), "specials" (music, art, Spanish, etc.) every day, wonderful teachers, inexpensive after-school program, lots of field trips... I could go on! We'll definitely be back for PK4.

I'm a parent of a PK3 student and I couldn't be happier with Seaton. Our daughter looks forward to going to school every day. My wife and I are certain to re-enroll for PK4. The teacher quality is terrific. Midway through the PK3 year, our daughter is writing about half the alphabet, which she learned almost entirely in school. Our PK3 teacher, Ms. Leehey, regularly takes the kids on walks around the neighborhood and engages the kids in different class activities. You sometimes hear that DCPS schools don't have extracurriculars or the arts. That's not the case with Seaton. The art teacher, Ms. Thomas, is one of the most creative and patient teachers I've ever met, and certain better than most art teachers I had as a kid. We're very impressed with the fun projects our daughter brings home after school. Don't worry about the test scores. First, the tests aren't administered until the 3rd grade, 6 years after PK3. So improvements in the early grades aren't reflected in the scores. Second, many of the students at Seaton are ESL--which, to me, is a huge strength--but it reflects in some of the scores. Bottom line, Seaton is a terrific school flying way below the radar.

Seaton is an amazing school! The principal works hard to ensure that all students are getting a quality education. He has been there for years and is doing an awesome job! I am happy to send my kids to Seaton.
