My daughter started Mysa school this year and I couldn't be happier with her renewed love of learning. She was very disengaged and unmotivated in her previous, well-regarded DCPS elementary school. Within her first week at Mysa, she was excited about seeing her teachers and friends and talking about what she was learning every day. Having teachers who are extremely accessible and in tune with her needs and interests has really strengthened her curiosity and confidence. I'd worried about the transition to a smaller school, but being a part of a community of genuinely kind kids of all ages has really strengthened her social skills and broadened her interests.

Selecting MYSA as a school for our child was the best education decision we could have made for his academic and emotional development. At times it's hard to believe a school like this actually exists. The teachers create and foster an emotionally supportive and safe environment that only propels a curiosity for learning, because the students feel they are seen, heard, and valued. The students thrive academically and socially, showing compassion toward themselves and each other, which in turn fosters the type of global citizens we need. Our child began school at 5 years old, and at the end of his first year was performing on a 2nd grade level in some areas. Not only that, but his emotional intelligence and social inquiry developed at rapid speed in one year. During the summer, he counted the days he could return back to school in the fall. As parents, we feel we are part of a team with the teachers and well-connected to other families. We couldn't ask for anything more.
