Highest performing district in the county and it shows -- may have to do with the affluent families moving in, though. Driven, ambitious students who aim high. Competitive sports teams and academics. Students "work hard, play hard". District is definitely a good alternative to those priced out of Westchester/Bergen counties but still want to live in/send their child to a high performing public school.

Warwick Valley is an excellent school district with many opportunities for college prep and helping those with learning curves. The school works quickly and effective when problems arise and the district is very safe -- great sense of community. High AP enrollment and sports participation!!

This school lacks effective leadership. The principal does not lead by example but only leads by position. She seems to be over her head in so many ways. She ignores issues, rarely puts anything in writing, and would lie to cover up. Some teachers are great and caring, some are mediocre, and a few have no clue on what effective pedagogy is and do not care to improve.

A good, solid experience. Lots of offerings in high school. Maybe whiter/wealthier than US averages but not an enclave. Reliable. But be active !

As a graduate of the class of 2014 I have had the pleasure of entering in Jan. 2011 as a sophmore and despite the radical change of the education from North Carolina but after meeting some teachers who were willing to help me through the "Regents" though despite the groups that I noticed such as the smokers I can only really point that out as a disappointing feature in school as well and its surprising how the Security at times haven't seemed to have caught them in the act. With recent changes to the Study Hall usage, Lunch limitations I can at least be fortunate to be a Senior during those changes. I found this school in the end to be quite average in comparison to other high schools. I can point plenty of other "Problems" that this school has in regards to the Code of Behavior however its not my place to point out what my fellow adults are to enforce as I am not in charge of this school's development of children.

Academically, the numbers speak for themselves. Upon entry to the school it promotes anti bullying yet very little is done to prevent this. Cliques are big in this school and can be quite distasteful towards students who might be different. I wonder how the Warwick valley bullies feel at graduation when they end up at the unprestigious colleges. He/ she who laughs last laughed the hardest... good luck bullies

I hate this school. It's a jail and it sucks. Teachers pick favorites and students are annoying and form cliques. I hate it and I count down the days until I graduate in 2016.

PART THREE: And academically, Warwick has amazing standards. AP classes, Honors classes, language classes, normal classes....no matter what you are in, I found that, although not all teachers are perfect (no matter what school you attend), the teachers at WVHS are very helpful and good teachers. The standards of excellence Warwick has, I have never seen at another school.

Our child had a terrific experience academically. We had concerns about transferring a child to a school that was 10 times larger but the classes for higher achieving students created an atmosphere where is was okay to work hard and produce good work. The teachers appear to be dedicated and hard working. Many give up their personal time to help their students. The new Principal came up through the ranks and is part of the community. He has a good rapport with the students and appears to be genuine. No school is perfect. There are issues with drugs and alcohol as any school of this size would have but the school and local police seem to work well together. The technology in the school is poorly maintained and the staff untrained in its use. These are distractions that can be overcome and do not prevent learning for those who want to learn.
