Some teachers may not be as helpful but there are some teachers that care and will help students.

It’s 2022!! Doesn’t look like anything has changed since some of these reviews. Staff needs to get their heads out the sand and start handling the terrible behavior of the students better. Kids here are nothing but bullies and need to be disciplined correctly. If staff can’t handle it then they need to be replaced, Something needs to change! Start holding some of these parents accountable for their child’s bad behavior.

This school needs to do something about the bullying! My student has been getting picked on since attending kids throwing the middle finger, calling names and physically harassing! Shame on this school they need to be shut down or new people in charge.

Overlooked school. Honestly its not the best school ever, but it is very judged. The school has a greater higher rate for activities compared to CIMS. It has more comfortable uniforms for both PE and in general. It can offer a lot for learning differences.

This school should be shut down they this school is aware of kids doing sexual acts in the bathroom and nothing is being done kids only get suspended for two days and get to return to school like nothing happened.

My experience at this school has been awful. But i really feel bad for my child. She's the one who has to come face to face and deal with not only the student bullys but the staff bully's as well. Please parents dont dismiss your childrens concerns when they talk to you about a teacher. They just might be telling the truth.

2014/2015 school year. This school is by far one of the worst middle schools I have had the opportunity to encounter. My daughter attends that school and is being bullied, well lets just say they're whole motto about them not tolerating bullying is a lie. My daughter is in special IEP classes and even with the principle knowing that she doesnt take it upon herself to do her job and provide my daughter with the safety she needs at school. When I personally went to speak to the principle she could never never make time to speak to me and when i would see her she would say that she would handle it at a later time. I pulled my daughter out of that shool and had to take her back because that is the only school in this city that can privide by daughter with the classes she needs. I would not recommend this school to anyone. If your childs safety is important to you dont let them attend this school.

Good school. I do agree it could be better but I have seen worse. Good thing is, teachers and staff are working on resolving the problems.. With parent involvement this school will be a great school! I have an advanced student attending Hook and he is doing very well along with his group of friends. If we put our minds to it we can finish turning the school around. Parent/teacher involvement is key.

I attended hook this year. All the teachers are willing to take extra time to help a student in need. For the most part they are friendly, and the principle enforces all rules. Everyone is saying that there is always violence and that it is the teachers fault. Is it really? I think that it is a parents job to disciplind thier child. The security does a great job of watching out for the students safety. The teachers and principle enforce all rules when it comes to a staff or students safety. There is some great oppurtunitys your student will have if they attend Hook Jr. High :)
