The office staff is horrible. No compassion for the children. Or the parents for that matter. The principal is not very active in stopping bullying. The teachers are very good. The proctor's and crossing guards are great. But the face of the school is the office staff and they are horrible.

The principal informed me that this school is only focused on students who are falling behind. I suggest to avoid enrolling your child at this school at all cost. They care nothing about a child that has the ability to succeed within them. The attitudes of the teachers and staff (including the principal) are not appropriate examples to set before any child. They are not building the ambition, leadership qualities, goal oriented, empowerment, reach for the stars type behavior that I am instilling in my children at home. They don't come close to it, they don't even support it.

DEL REY ElEMENTARY is a really bad school. Some teachers help the students n make them understand there class work n homework. the principle is very mean to children n she takes there snacks away n through them in the trash. school staffs are very rude to the parent n students. my son has even came home crying because a staff always bench him n dont let him play, the staff has even threated my sons friend to stay away from my child if they do not want to get bench. ive gone to the school n talked to the principle to let her know about the problem but when the principle talks to the staff the staff always denies it n calls my son a liar n it makes my son cry. The principle never believed my son n believed the staff more . this school also never aware about the fight the kids get it. the kids always fight n bully other students n even beat them up n hurt them. I think DEL REY ELEMENTARY is by far the worst school n the staff should be fired for being rude with parents n students. the principle should be replaced by someone who understands and actually help with the problems n situations going on with there staffs n students.

Last week I took my first grade son out of school permanently from DEL REY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL. The school appears great from the outside but functions very poorly on the inside. My son was labeled ADHD at the beginning of the year by his teacher because he was messy, had bad handwriting and didn't want to listen to directions and didn't want to sit in his desk. We had him tested and it turns out he is highly gifted and not ADHD at all and the problem is boredom and an apathetic teacher. The principle early on told us that our son couldn't change classes and that we had to deal only with the teacher. The school counselor were fixated on his behavior and wanted to give him fidgets and other devises to "help." Not once were his potential abilities addressed or harnessed. This school has failed up completely from the principle to the teacher to the counselor to the district TAG department. I will never send my son to another victorville public school.

This school is amazing! The principle is pashonate and wants the best for all the kids, even though some take her as too loud or mean. She's a good lady. The area is tough but this school is good and getting brtter

My son has attended this school for 3 years now, and I can not be happier. This is the only A.V.I.D college prep school in the district. I love that they send out automated phone calls and emails to keep us informed. The office staff, specifically Cory, is extremely knowledgeable. Every question I have gone to her with has always been answered. The principal is usually there when I go in, and knows most of the kids by name which is pretty cool. I know my son always gets excited when she greets him. If my son is happy and learning, then I am happy!
