Pierpont has been a great educational experience for our family. My kids look forward to going to school, in a positive learning and social atmosphere. Parent involvement is high; and most classes have daily parent volunteers, which is great for reducing the adult/child ratio. We benefit from a highly communicative staff. I always know how my kids are doing, both in the classroom and on the playground. All one has to do is ask! My children’s teachers have been 100% receptive (with great attitudes!) to meeting outside of school hours, to go into detail about my kids’ well-being and performance, in the classroom. They’ve been incredibly accommodating, encouraging, and proactive about meeting my children’s unique needs. I see my kids learning so much, and their lives being enriched. The school regularly incorporates activities like hip hop, gardening, beach days, yoga, ceramics, art lessons, and more, into the daily curriculum. I feel so very fortunate for our family to benefit from being a part of this special community. Great principal and staff! Amazing parents, kids, and network of families supporting each other.

I am absolutely in love with this school in general! I worked so hard for 9 to 10 months on getting my kid enrolled in this school and it was worth every second of it. The teachers are all hand picked and super calm, kind, smart, patient, understanding and knowledgeable about everything they do and should be doing in the classrooms and during recess. It is a very small school and it feels very private... which I love. Also, everyone (parents) really come together to raise the funds, volunteer and participate in the school events ...which makes the school super strong and high in spirit. Couldn't ask for a better location by the way! We are super lucky.

Above average for a public school. That being said, it is still a public school and is thereby bound to the unions, fosters mediocrity, and overwhelmingly caters to the lowest common denominator. VERY high parent participation, amazing community support, small school vibe, and almost completely insulated from the "undesirable elements" trolling the beaches nearby. Definitely safe, but not a place that will prepare your child for an academic career that is anything but mediocre. If you have to send your child to a public school in Ventura, this is where you want them placed.

My son is a first grader attending this school. His class size is fairly small compared to other public schools. On Fridays the kids get to go to the beach for Science class. The teacher is wonderful. The principal is awesome! She is dedicated to the well being of the students. The school offers many different resources to help families. We have the best crosswalk guard. He makes sure that safety comes first. The parents come together to volunteer and the community is peaceful. We love our school by the beach!

My daughter loves this school because of her friends. But I have to say that it is very clicky with the parents. If your not part of the group then you or your child will not be invited to anything. The homework is extensive and harsh, and the teachers are no help at all. Look out for the crossing guard in the morning, he's sure to start your day with a head full of stress.

Don't send your child here, it is a awful school full of bullies. The PTA seems corrupted, I myself donate on a monthly basis but don't see any of it. They always keep the same people as the leaders so if you want to get involved your out of luck.
