There curriculum is seriously low not held to very high standards OBVIOUSLY! Started noticing my child was behind to me but on the honor roll according to his teacher. I then moved all to a different school and at this time they are struggling ,being way behind! How can this be acceptable! I've been told mine aren't the only ones...apparently there is a great number of other students that have also left that school and are behind as well.

Vaughn is an excellent school. There are 130 students ranging from Preschool (Headstart) to eight grade. It is a Common Core Core based curriculum. Until recently this school had an outstanding principal, Dean Jardee. As grandparents, we were impressed by the quality of education and staffing. This school has a safe, nurturing environment

The CRT of old is being changed with Common Core testing as a state standard. The curriculum at Vaughn is not just centered around the common core standard, it is more encompassing than just preparing students to "pass a test". With smaller class sizes, the students receive more one on one instruction, receive a more well rounded education, and are able to isolate and identify subject matter difficulties more so than in a larger sized class. With these smaller sized classes, those "rough spots" for children are easier to over come and it speaks volumes in the progression of their education. Vaughn school has gone to a 4 day school week, which contrary to initial appearance, actually increases the teachable hours of the students. It is a streamlined curriculum that exposes students to a more robust education, while freeing up Fridays for students to take care of any appointments that would normally take them out of school. Vaughn School is cutting edge in many respects, providing the same level of education you would find at a charter school.
