VES is a wonderful little school. The teachers and staff work hard and love our children so much. We’re very thankful.

I was not impressed with this school! My child started Kindergarten here, but we moved after 4 months because of the school. We ve never had any behavioral issues from my child, but he constantly came home with yellow or red faces. I met with the teacher and was told that he wasn t that bad . If that was the case then why did he get a bad face every day? The list for supplies was insane. I don t mind buying what my child needs, but I do mind supplying the rest of the class and the teacher. On the day he withdrew, all he came back with from his nearly two-page supply list was some crayons, glue, scissors, and his nap mat. It seemed like the school or PTO was constantly asking for money. This was hard for us living on a tight budget. The last straw for us was when the guidance counselor called us to come to the school as soon as possible. She stated that she "concerned that my child s homework wasn t signed and that he was falling behind". It was the first time his homework hadn t been signed and it was very obvious that she hadn t even looked at his grades considering he had a 100% on his report card. Take your child somewhere else if you want the best for your them!

This school is such a wonderful school from the staff to kids! All the teachers that I have met so far seem to really like what they do. The librarian at that school is such a caring person. I have met several students from that school and they always mention Mrs. Lyles. She makes the kids eager to read and shows them how it can be fun. This school deserves 5 stars!!

This school has some positive but there are few. It's a roll of dice on if you get a good teacher or one who is just there for a job. My daughter came home to almost her whole class failing a math test and the teacher considered it a burden. We even did a phone call because she's always done well. The teacher pushed the fact my daughter was too slow. The secretaries were good and counselor wonderful but principal was someone we just decided to avoid. My daughter had told about bullying and it was brushed aside. She saw and stressed the severity of it. Plus it's sad to say but we are a step from purchasing desks. We have had to buy tennis balls so they save on floor maint. and band aids for nurse station. I can only imagine what the teachers bring from home. Sad to say but from the multiple fundraisers and begging for everything I believe private school will be a great investment. There's already parents not letting theirs go to the middle school because its worse. They would rather go ahead and pay a private school because at the end you almost pay the same for half of an education there

It is a shame that some people would use this website to review a school and we are not able to hear the other side of the story. Vance is obviously a great school. It makes me sad that a person would write such untrue things about a great school. The teachers at Vance are very qualified and caring. This person earlier must have issues with Vance. Every parent I know thinks it's a great school.

My child started school today and was only there an hour if that before the principal calls me to tell me my child needed to be picked up immediately because the child would sit was walking around looking at everything on the walls and the teacher could not handle it. My child is 5 1/2 yrs old never been to day care or pre school but has the education of a 1 st grader. These people seem to forget that they are only small kids and that they are curious and when its the first day of school its hard for them to just sit quietly when they are so very excited. My child is not perfect it was a new exciting experience and when I went to the school to pick my child up they had the nerve to tell me I should my child to be tested for autism. I was appalled at what I was hearing. I don't plan on taking my child back to this school ever. The saddest part is my child spent the rest of the day and night crying because the school won't let my child to come and learn like my child wants to do. But I am glad I found out early what this school is about before they damaged my child slowly over the years. One day is better then 6 yrs of ignorant unqualified staff.
