This school is failing their students and promotes segregation; which I thought was outlawed for public schools. Terrible test scores all catering towards a specific ethnicity of caucasians. I am not sure who is dumber: the students with low test scores, the parents for sending their children here, the faculty, or the taxpayers for funding an effective haven of segregation.

This school used to be a 9 (when my child started) out of 10 here and now a 6 it shows. It's not diverse when 98% of the students are Armenian including a lot of the staff AND all board members. They claim they are NOT an Armenian school but look at the numbers. If your not Armenian you will always feel inadequate and not part of the Ararat community. It's just an ok school so if your child doesn't "get in" it's ok your not missing out. Curriculum is just ok. Some teachers are awesome but lots have left and not stuck, not surprised its mostly the non Armenian that leave. Languages taught are very outdated and pointless, the kids don't learn the languages offered. We are happy to be at a score 9 school up the street that truly is diverse and inclusive.

My children have attended Ararat from Kindergarten. It has always been a warm caring environment for children to thrive. First campus is small and safe. I especially love how all the staff know all the kids names. Second campus is a bit spread out and harder to manage but we were able to have a good few years here. Room 45 and Room 43 teachers were so great this year. The room 45 teacher is so friendly and such a good role model. My child loves to go to school. I am beyond thankful to Ms. W for spending so much time and effort to make learning fun and to make her students feel happy. There are little things that are sometimes unseen but have a huge impact. The coordinators are past teachers with many years of experience. When my child had them as teachers they left such a positive foundation that I know my child will carry for the rest of his schooling and career. They take the time to talk to the students and parents and really make them feel understood.

Ararat Charter School is an outstanding educational institution that has exceeded my expectations in every way. From the moment we stepped foot into the school, we were greeted by a warm and welcoming atmosphere that immediately put us at ease. The staff and teachers are incredibly dedicated and go above and beyond to ensure that each child receives a high-quality education. One teacher, in particular, stands out among the rest—Ms. Watsabaugh. She has an incredible talent for making learning fun and exciting. My eldest son had the privilege of having Ms. Watsabaugh as his teacher in the past, and his experience was nothing short of amazing. She has a unique way of sparking curiosity and engaging her students in the learning process. It is no surprise that my son speaks so highly of her and looks back on his time in her class with fond memories. Now, with my second son enrolled at Ararat Charter School, I am thrilled to see that he too has the opportunity to be taught by Ms. Watsabaugh. The enthusiasm and passion she brings to the classroom are truly inspiring. My son comes home excited about what he has learned each day, and I can see his love for learning growing under Ms. Watsabaugh's guidance. It is a testament to her exceptional teaching abilities that I am eagerly hoping that my third son will have the privilege of being part of her class in the future. The dedication and commitment of the entire staff at Ararat Charter School are commendable. They create an environment where every child feels valued and supported, fostering a love for learning that extends beyond the classroom. The school's emphasis on individualized attention and small class sizes allows for personalized instruction and fosters strong relationships between teachers and students. In conclusion, Ararat Charter School is an exceptional institution that truly puts the needs of its students first. The teachers and staff, particularly Ms. Watsabaugh, have made a significant impact on my children's education and overall experience at the school. I am grateful to be part of such a remarkable community and would wholeheartedly recommend Ararat Charter School to any parent seeking an enriching and nurturing educational environment for their children.

My child has attended Ararat since 2nd grade. I noticed that the progress and report cards did not correlate with the actual retention and understanding of the curriculum. His grades reflected highly, however, he didn't seem to fully grasp the entire concept of the lessons. Moreover, intervention and additional tutoring resources were not offered at Ararat. His scores were mediocre on quizzes and tests but would receive above average grades on final reporting periods. When the next trimester came around and the lessons became more challenging, I noticed there was still a struggle in areas he was marked as "exceeding grade level expectations" which confirmed my observations that the grades were not accurate with the reports. When his scores came in from State Testing, his results reflected very low comprehension and progress towards grade level expectations. I firmly believe that the grades being reported were to benefit the school financially and to assist with the qualification of receiving grants from the state, as Ararat is a Public Charter School. I do not concur with the inaccurate 5 star ratings given to this school as the education was, at the very highest, satisfactory. Having children in other school districts, I see that Ararat is delayed in their curriculum. What was being taught at Ararat in 4th grade, my 3rd grader had already learned, and so on. It does seem that their education has depleted over the years since the beginning of my child's enrollment at Ararat and I would recommend researching other schools before selecting this one.

I am blessed to have my daughters at this school. It's like a big family. My children go to school with excitement every day. The staff and teachers truly care about students. I know that my kids are in safe hands. Every morning, students are greeted by staff with big smiles and care. The school team is always there for each student, and as a parent, you can always count on their support. If any issues arise, staff and teachers are willing to discuss and resolve them. The teachers in rooms 42 and 43 are gems. They have high teaching standards, emphasize the importance of values, and build leaders through their classes and lessons. They are passionate about seeing their students succeed and go above and beyond for them. The school has classes in Armenian and Spanish languages, a library, music, a computer lab, and APEX (after-school program).Every teacher my daughters have had at Ararat over the years has been fantastic. These six years with Ararat School have been an incredible journey. Great team - great school!

I would like to start off by saying this school has changed my child for the best! She started to write, read, and her math is excellent! She couldn’t have done it without the teacher in Room 3 ! She also loves her school and teacher, she comes home everyday and tells me about all the amazing things they did and learned for the day. They respect my child and love her also! I would recommend every parent to consider this school for their child as it is the best for mine.
