As a parent of two children, one neurotypical (1st grade) and one with high-functioning autism (5th Grade), finding the right educational environment has been crucial. My experience with Summit View, is a special education where both of my kids are thriving and happy. From day one, it was clear that this more than just a school – it's a nurturing community dedicated to every child's success. The staff's dedication is palpable, with some even former students, demonstrating a deep-rooted commitment to each child's journey. What truly sets Summit View apart is its inclusive atmosphere. The teachers go above and beyond to support every child's unique needs, fostering an environment where my child with autism feels embraced and encouraged to shine. The new (PTA) has newly enhanced this sense of community. Their events not only bring families together but also raise funds for enriching programs, ensuring every child has access to resources for success. The sports program is also great and inclusive. My son, who might not have had the opportunity otherwise, joined the basketball team and thrived. This inclusivity extends to the high school team, which achieved crazy success this year, a testament to the school's dedication to providing opportunities for all.All in all SV has been a game-changer for my family. Witnessing the transformation in both of my children has finally been awesome. If you're seeking an exceptional special education program with a nurturing community and inclusive sports opportunities, look no further than SV. If your child needs more social skills and behavior help, The Help Groups - Village Glen School or Bridgeport school are better alternative options.

This school has been a blessing for my child! He has grown by leaps and bounds. We couldn't be more pleased with the teachers and administration. We love the strong sense of community and the amount of pride our child has in his school.

A waste of my 3 years; my child never thrived and has a mild learning disability, the environment of the school does not provide a safe or secure social setting and the school is protecting bullies and not they bullied. It's a concentrated environment of kids with emotional issues that run the gamut and are not managed effectively or appropriately. I believe this caused a level of toxic stress in my child and regret ever sending my child there.

We have been at Summit View for seven years---this school saved our child and taught him how to be independent, how to self-advocate, and be successful too... for the most part, the teachers are excellent, highly trained and aware of how your kid learns..the administrators are kind and creative leaders...what a gift!

I am a member of the Summit View staff and I couldn't be happier to be working at Summit View. It's an incredibly supportive community. I am privileged to work with such passionate and dedicated educators who go above and beyond for their students. There's nothing better than seeing a student who once struggled significantly in the classroom, develop a joy for learning. We provide a safe place for students to be themselves.

My child has been at Summit View for 2 years. What a lifesaver this school is! The small classes and teacher student ratio makes all the difference in the world. The admin is caring and always available to listen and help out with any issues. The new director is great and making positive changes. It's such a pleasure to have teachers that know how to actually teach to students with a learning disability.

After struggling in the public school system with such a high student to teacher ratio, our daughter struggled to keep up and kept falling further and further behind. Summit View has been a true lifesaver for her personally and our family. She is finding success thanks to Summit View.

I was a student at Summit View School. It's a good school for elementary and they have alright teachers. During elementary school I was a very shy student, although once I got into 6th grade the school taught me to be more self confident in myself. Once I entered 7th grade the teachers where horrible, they didn't know how to correct papers correctly, the teachers do not follow the schools rules, they are very lazy, and lack the "Teaching" skill, the principle and the head of the school are the most horrible people I will ever meet, I say that because they don't do anything when an issue comes up either between another student or teacher. I'm currently in 9th grade and my parents and myself absolutely hate the school. My middle school life here was a waste of time and kept getting worse every year. I see the students in 9th-12th grade and it seems as if they stayed the same or got worse academically. One last thing. I would come home with homework and it would take me about 15-20 minutes while at other schools an average student spends 30min-1hour or more on homework. This here clearly shows that this school is teaching students nothing. I would defiantly NOT recommend this to any.

I attended Summit View West for many years and I am currently at a university. I would never write a positive report of this school and those who have I seriously doubt are legitimate. I would definitely recommend this school for only 1 to 2 years at most, unless you know your child could not pass at another school. This school is not for children that are just too lazy. I experienced minuscule homework, no need to study, over powered administration, little to no social skills, ridiculous grade curves, and never had to write a paper longer than 5 pages. As a senior at this school I still had drawings of happy looking teenagers and smiling suns on my class work and homework. That is humiliating for a student especially if he has friends outside the school. I never studied for a test other than at school and I still received merit list. The administration here will accuse your children for anything yet not a single student will be expelled because they just want the money. I did not know how to make friends in college and only talked to my roommate for the first semester. Got an F for homework every class and still passed. Now i still do not know how to write a paper -Former student

My daughter attends Summit View West. This is a terrific school. Dedicated teachers, excellent administration, wonderful student- teacher ratio. Nancy Rosenfelt , head of school is the most dedicated, energetic , experienced, educator I have ever come in contact with. If your child has any kind of learning disabilities this is the place !
