The Taxes in Uxbridge have gone up in town so much that some businesses have closed, and many families have moved out. All to pay for this new school, which was represented to be a great deal. They raided all accounts, causing fee increases for everything going on in town. The boys track team has gone on long distance runs, but only made it as far as the brook down the street. The voters finally stopped pouring money into it after 2 proposition two and a half overrides passed, and they still wanted more.

As a student in the class of 2016, I know, as well as all of my classmates do, the trainwreck that UHS is. My class has never had stability-- the format for the schedules has been changed every year, classes have been switched and sometimes combined, and most of the competent teachers have been laid off or jumped ship. I recently received the schedule for my senior year, a year that we have been told for four years was the most important, and the one the staff held the most care for. You can imagine my disappointment at finding that I was scheduled for three gym classes (a tactic they have used in the past because they don't have enough classes for the students), all with different teachers and two of the three are classes I explicitly asked not to have. Further, the one class I stressed was important that I take because it pertained to the career path I wish to follow, was scheduled for me one day and then gone the next. I was also scheduled for a class I literally took two months ago in the last semester of the school year, and it's with the same bumbling teacher in the same block that really should retire, because he can offer the students no experience or education. If you are a parent or a student looking into this school, my advice is to look elsewhere. The administration will not listen to any voice your student may have, they will not listen to you as a parent, and they will continue to make mistake after mistake as long as the Super Intendant gets a story on the front page. There is a reason Uxbridge has such a high rate of children that choose to Choice-Out, trust me.

The School is nice but the system is so out of touch with reality. To start with the high school wanted a new building, but sadly the School or town didn't check to see if the person in charge of the budget had a basic understanding of math. and so once the new school got approved in came the famous Oooppss I forgot about a sports field. The school was urging parents to go and vote yes to being taxed for a field, after numerous No's to overturn they shoehorned it in regardless, great way to teach children democracy. Next comes the genius idea of putting in an Asphalt plant near the new school after all, what parent wouldn't want there children to be breathing in those fumes???? But as its such a small health risk no one thought it was worth blocking it for the childrens health sake. We are now in a situation where the school doesn't have enough money for this year and is trying everything to figure out where to get it. AP courses are going, as well as 15% of the teachers, but at least they have a nice sports field they can walk around and ponder where it all went wrong. As a parent you have to look at the system and think are they capable of educating my child.

I think the teachers are doing fantastic job here . I have a son who goes to grade 2 and a daughter in K. The teachers are very kind ,loving and affectionate. I am looking forward to send my kids to the new high school.

This school leaves so much to be desired especially for students with special needs! They say they want parent involvement but they will do everything to push you away to hide the fact that they don't follow ieps! ASC is a joke look at the description ask your student who has that class..they don't help. They don't even provide the services that they should to help either. Special ed. teachers are teaching regular classes when they belong helping the students like they should be that need it! They push the college prep classes and dwell most attention on the advance students....what about the ones that struggle and deserve material and support to help them succeed too. Their parents pay the taxes too in town. Please wake up and smell the coffee before its to late. All we want for our children to be the best they can...too succeed and live independently too!

I go to this school and it sucks. The teachers are horrible and disorganized treat the students like little kids and the wrong students get in trouble for something someone else did. They can't even keep schedules and rules right. Not worth it. Bad education=Uxbridge high school.
