We came here via school choice from Webster, we've been here for 2 years now. I have nothing but good things to say about Douglas. At webster there were daily fights, my son has not seen even one in our time here. They genuinely care about students success and attendance.

never helped me nor supported me with anything relating to my autism. horrible schooling for people with disabilities any person who isn't white.

PART TWO. "safe,supportive,challenging learning environment": I doubt its safe if in 2012-13, there were several bomb threats.Supportive:a student in my grade went to guidance to report her being bullied.counselors didn't do jack, yet when a Prep or Jock reported them being bullied,Counselors immediately fixed their problem.For challenging,teachers are too soft. "academic success and personal growth":Academic success- in my math class of freshman year,math and biology grades dropped, Studied hard and tried my best, yet the students in my class and the teacher himself really tore me down. No personal growth.

I have been a student here for about three years. This is an immacably clean school with high intentions for student acedemics. The staff in this school take almost everything, if not all things serious. Nothing is a joke here. I believe that those characteritics are key to a student's high school experience as well as growth in acedemics. I love this school and I would not want to go anywhere else to recieve an education. This school was recently, in the year 2003, rebuilt and has recieved an amazing architectural design by the SMMA, which makes the school an even better environment. The academic courses here are challenging depending on the student. This school's students are unbelievably smart and are able to understand almost every course they are put in. This does not mean the courses are not challenging. When a student needs help, all staff members are willing to help with a smile. Douglas High School's sports are ranked highly among most other high schools, as well as GPA. The students here are role models to all, and the school has repeatidly won awards for it's outstandingness. I highly recomend this school for its spectacular environment, acedemics, and staff.
