I am a new student at Proctor High School. Coming from a different town and different school district this school does not follow up with the current standards of a good school. The teachers are very rude and disrespectful to the students which isn’t a good way to build bonds and strengthen learning when the students don’t like you. Also, kids fight in the school almost everyday, multiple times per day, and administrators barely do anything after the fact besides tackling students down to break a fight up. Lastly, teachers try to push their “beliefs” on to the students and when they speak out on whatever they’re saying the teachers tend to feel offended and attempt to embarrass you in front of your entire class. I’d go to any other public high school in Utica if there were others to choose from.

Albany and Proctor schools are very diverse and accepting. The AP courses are generally quite good.

What I personally loved about Proctor was the true diversity of the school. It prepared me for college and real world situations that involved individuals of all backgrounds to be a part of. I had a great experience in the business academy (D Academy) and it prepared me for college, working, and ultimately owning my own business. The school gets a bad rep but I have nothing but good things to say about it.
