Terrible. We only attended 6th grade at this school and it was too long.

High student to teacher ratio as already stated. Also, they put a lot into computer learning and expect not only for children to do the programs at school but at home also. and the programs are ineffective, unhelpful and confusing and causing a lot of tears in my house. If the over abundant amount of homework is not completed children miss recess. Also, a lot of the way things are done are a little "we've always done it this way." Why are 5th and 6th graders forced to sit through an over 30min presentation from 1st graders and they all zone out. And the kindergartners can't hold still and cry. seems like a waste of an hour of their day. anways. not super impressed with this school but it is the only public school my children have been in. we may try something different this next year.

Our children have attended Flickinger for 4 years. The school was rated a 7/10 when we enrolled. Today, it is a 4/10. The leadership at both the school and district levels is atrocious to say the least. Our superintendent is paid more than the governor of our state. Our principal is terrible. She is merely a puppet of the superintendent. Discipline is non-existent with the same problem children committing the same bullying, violent behavior on the playground and in the school building. Don't believe the student/teacher ratio listed on this site. Both of our children have never been in a class with less than 30 others. Far too overcrowded for any type of personalized attention when necessary. We moved to the Utica School District because it was on of the highest rated districts in the state. While this may be true for a select few schools in the district, the remainder, Flinkinger included, is far from satisfactory.

I have been very impressed with this school. I have two students who are attending Flickinger right now. The principal is approachable and involved in nearly every activity. He cares about the kids and families. The teachers have been outstanding and have had to adjust their instruction for the new testing. The state test schools are above state average and there is a genuine push to teach every kid. I only wish they would bring back the instrumental music to what it used to be.

Flickinger is an outstanding school. The principal Mr. Steere is very approachable, the teachers are wonderful and go out of their way for their students. Parent involvement is is very high and my two kids love this school.
