I’ve had nothing but amazing experiences with Green Local Schools! Teachers, admin and staff have been so great with my kids and it shows they go above and beyond for the students. What a great community!

There are so many problems with this district . They hide behind their image and ignore things that any parent would take issue with.

Horrible teaching style, he is graded by completion, kids are put in groups to teach each other .... this is a terrible learning program

I would give negative stars if I could.... family moves a lot, have been to 5 different school districts in 3 different states... this district is failing its students....We are new to Green Scools, KIDS IN Middle and High school. Great safe city but be advised of the school districts CPM learning/teaching format in middle and high school. Tests are 80% of grade and homework is only 20%, so lots of focus on tests, and If your child doesn't do well on tests, they will struggle and/or fail. The CPM is where there is little to no teacher instruction, kids are put in groups of 4, given their assignment, and have to learn everything on their own as a group. It's fine if your child is gifted and is a self learner, all others will struggle significantly!!!! Kids are not taught like all other schools, it's crazy!!! Additional, homework is not graded by individual question, only give 100% if it looks done. Problem is, kids are never corrected when they aren't understanding so kids and teachers dont know what kids are struggling with. Then they take the tests, without being taught or homework checked, and kids are failing their tests because they have no idea what to do. And remember, kids tests are 80% of their overall grade.... with lack of instruction and lack of being taught, plus homework not being graded, plus 80% of their grade are tests... your child will STRUGGLE SEVERELY!!!! I WISH WE WOULD HAVE NEVER PICKED THIS SCHOOL DISTRICT!!!!! My husband works for a company with lots of upper management movement, we have informed them all of this issue, all have chosen other school districts. Look up cons of CPM teaching.... the cons are accurate, pros only look and sound good on paper but are not accurate!!!

Rigid, unyielding, inflexible ..... there is no disputing ANY of this school's stringent policies and absolutely no compromise to meet individual students' needs.

As a parent, I have been disappointed with this school system several times over the past few years. There are several excellent teachers at the high school, but we have also experienced student teachers teaching core subjects. Scheduling is a nightmare; there are not enough open classes for some subjects and students are stuck with alternate choices that they have no interest in and that will not help them with college preparation. In addition, the block classes make scheduling so difficult. The foreign language department has been drastically cut back and most offerings are now online.
