Excellent school for those seeking a challenging academic environment and conservative values. My son used to coast through public school and earned straight A's with minimal effort. At Kellenberg he's had to earn everything and I am very pleased. There is no shortage of clubs and activities and he is surrounded by like minded, hard working kids. Civility, Order and Respect are the cornerstones of the school, if those values align with your family then this is the right choice for your child.

I am a former teacher at KMHS. I retired after seeing many discriminatory activities. For example, when one of my students of my students was racially profiled by the Head Dean/Dean of Discipline this year. My student was of African American descent and was always in trouble for doing certain things other Caucasian students would not get disciplined for. I am extremely disappointed in how this school has changed over the years. In my over 24 years of teaching at multiple different schools, this school has turned from a fantastic educational environment to a racist white privileged school. I do not recommend this school to any parents interested.

Hate it, constricting homophobic environment, on girl/bou uniforms no gender neutral options.

This school is amazing with teaching students to be respectful, kind caring and many more incredible features. This school has great sports teams and teh students try very hard.

I give it 5 stars. It was easy to talk to most of the teachers and going there made me more religious. That's why I joined the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary and I'm a Eucharistic Minister.

Excellent! Qualities of home; caring, compassionate, faith filled, strong dedication to a well-rounded education.

Based off of sports... This school is terrible. Highly political with choosing their athletes, if you're apart of a big athletic family or donate often... You're on any sports team in this school.

As a parent who has put two children through KMHS (one of which also went to the Latin school), I am very happy with the quality of education my children received. They each had different academic experiences, and both were involved in the numerous after school activities available in the school. Remember that this is a Catholic, college prep school. They have strict rules, especially around dress code and proper behavior. They call the children "professional students", and they are expected to act that way - so if you are looking for a more laid back environment, this isn't the place for your child. Both of my children have been back to visit the school post-graduation, which to me shows the positive experience and memories each took with them upon graduation. As a parent, what impressed me the most about the school was the way the teachers and student body would rally during a crisis - whether it was a school supply drive after a hurricane, or helping a current student during a family tragedy. The school teaches compassion and empathy, which makes all their students better people when they graduate.

There are some positives about Kellenberg but academics are not one of them. They are very strict which is not a bad thing. The children are expected to follow a set of rules and if they don't they have to suffer the consequences. My problem is their academics. Some of the teachers are good but many do not talk nicely to the students or parents for that matter and this practice is condoned all the way up through the administration. This school does not have an atmosphere of academic excellence. Many of the teachers could care less if their students even understood the material and just robotically grade the scantron tests. If you want a school with great academics and teachers that really care about motivating your child and helping them reach their fullest potential and that will become future mentors for your child look elsewhere. Save your money.

Looking at the other reviews, many people have trouble with tuition, strict teachers, religion, and college/honors. For tuition, Kellenberg is now one of the lowest tuition catholic running schools on Long Island! As for Religion, I understand why many people would be upset that their child hasn't been accepted, this year Kellenberg only accepted those who were baptized Catholics. You have to understand. Kellenberg wants all students to understand strong catholic beliefs. Yes I know it is unfair, but Kellenberg is a really great CATHOLIC school. And for those complaining on how they are "not very religious" that's what you sign up for! Kellenberg is very proud of their Religion. If you don't like Religion go somewhere else like Holy Trinity, I sure know that they aren't very catholic for a CATHOLIC school. Now for the problem of "strict teachers" for your information, not all of the teachers are "strict" yes there are some teachers that are strict but they at strict because they want you to do your very best. As for honors/college, Many people who graduate from Kellenberg receive a scholarship to many colleges. Kellenberg is truly a great CATHOLIC school on Long Island

My son graduated class of 2013.it w a s the best four years as a parent and student. M y son was involved with many clubs and has been involved with a group of friends which as of today they still hang with each other. Kellenberg is truly a school that never sleeps. To this day my son goes up and visit. Kellenberg has gotten my son ready for college. I as parent miss the school very much.

It's only my 2nd day here but I'm already loving it, the girls are NOT snotty or limited to one group at all, everyones so family like and willing to become friends with you. I think what really made me like this school more is the fact i DIDN'T make the cheerleading team. I opened my eyes to all of the cool clubs that almost everyone can get a club they like. I made some really good friends already and i'm looking forward to making more. But on a side note, some of the teachers are EXTREMELY strict when it comes to some classroom rules. A girl was late on the first day, and when asked why she just explained that she got lost and the teacher said that it wasn't an excuse. It was the 1ST DAY!! You just have to know your teachers rules and remember every teacher is different with how they handle things. Goodluck and you'll love it here!

As parents, we feel the school admisinstration does a poor job as advocates for their students. Our son worked extremely hard 4 years in their honors program and is a member of the National Honor Society.2 days before graduation, he was denied the right to display his hard work to peers and family and was almost denied the right to walk at graduation because of a medical emergency that prohibited from attending his Sr sendoff. We had spoken to the administration about the situation and my son went to the school the following morning to explain what had happened. He was advised to write a letter of apology for not getting on the bus to attend the Sr sendoff. Saturday morning we were told he was permitted to walk but they would not allow him to wear the Gold National Honor Society sash.We asked to speak to the school principal and were directed to contact the schools attorney. At the Graduation ceremony, they did not announce that he was a member of their honors program or that he was a member of the National Honor Society. This is our 3rd child that has attended the school but will be our last. This school has let us down. I'm pretty sure that this in not what JESUS would do.

As a parent, I wanted to send my child to a school where they will be cared for and prepared for college. After much research, I saw that many Catholic schools are all preaching the same thing: "best 4 years of my life", "one big family here". All of that is great, but the statistics are more important. After talking to there admistration, I found out that Kellenberg's SAT scores are quite higher than the state average. With over 1/3 of the school scoring 400+ points higher than the NY average, I was immensely impressed. I also was told that the other two thirds of the school score around 200+ points higher. These statistics prove that Kellenberg is truly an exceptional school. I also was impressed with the amount of schlarships given, another great quality of KMHS. The school promotes discipline and working hard which I like. After making the decision on sending my son to Kellenberg, I have been truly impressed with the academics. They are VERY challenging, and quite harder than my daughters public school work and my son's work in Trinity.(he wasn't accepted into KMHS).After all, I have been very impressed with the school and look to send my youngest there.
