Great school and great overall community feeling with staff/parents/students.

Not the best school. Avoid at any cost. My son was there for a year, and was excited start the new school in the beginning of the school year but towards the end he was completely turned off, the kids are rude, the topics are political, the homework is in all different places, that hard to keep a track of. This school is in the closed community, if you don`t know anyone, you and your child are screwed.
The overall attitude of this school is not the most ideal educational institution to send your children to. Some of the teachers and staff don't have enough patience to deal with younger children. A school is about learning and the growth of young individuals. When teachers don't show that they are passionate towards teaching, students won't be passionate towards learning.

Leadership seems questionable. Only been here about a year and it seems your child only matters if you know everyone in the school.

Poor leadership.. it’s all drama and no one at the top seems to do anything but get a big paycheck.

Awful. We are leaving this district because of the lack of communication and zero emphasis on academics. My child and I didn't even know they had an anti bullying campaign.

My daughter has had amazing teachers at Memorial. I'm not sure it's graded so low, but I'm very happy with the education she is receiving

The school has gotten much better over the last 3 years since the principal and superintendents have changed. They new people were promoted from within and have tried hard to improve the district. Things have been more stable and there has been more of an effort to have fun activities and events for kids and families on the weeknights and afterschool and even during the day. During Hurricane Sandy's aftermath the school's teachers and administration have been helping in the community and working to help residents and get the school back on track. It is sad the school and students were displaced but we hope to be back soon and stronger then before. We were well informed throughout the process and I commend all of the district staff for a job well done during this difficult time. The administration is helpful and accessible and are doing a lot for the school district. The biggest complaint I have is school maintenance. The custodians need more pride in their work.

Well, half of the school is good and half is bad. The after school programs are fun and a great experience. However the custodians sweep and fly dirt around when the children are eating. They even clean with bleach near the children's food. Poor communication. You recieve flyers for functions a week after the functions are held. The field day for the children is very fun and the children enjoy it. Overall, plenty of nice teachers. I also thought it was unfair that no after school programs for children under sixth grade (besides chorus or band for fourth grade and up) so no sports or anything. Unorganized......
