The administation issues seem to be better. The administation last year, was very narrow minded and not attentive to children's needs. When I found a hurt child in the morning out on the play ground the old principle, told me I was not allowed to be on the play ground. When my daughter slipped in the lunch room and there was no janitor to be found, the secretary. Told me he was not required to be in there in the morning. No teachers where showing up to supervise cafeteria in the morning either. But the new principle seems to be more concerned about students well being. He is a good guy. We have had good teachers for the most part except for last year. The teacher over assigned work and didn't expect my child to complete half of it. too much busy work! My child almost ended up on an iep because she said he needed on. Go meet the teacher this year and he is getting b's and c's, instead of d's and f's. Some of the parents aren't really friendly, but we've been here long enough: they kind of warmed up a bit. We have family here, otherwise: I might have explore other options- but the education seems to be good and that has kept us here. We like the neighborhood we live in, but the crime is definately getting worse in Twin Falls. We will stay here until the kids are in high school though, as we are scheduled to be in the new middle school opening next year. Anyway, this is some food for thought.

Aside from the principal, secretary, and one or two teachers this school's staff is awful. One teacher does the same assignment over and over again, my student gets extremely bored with doing the same thing all the time. Teachers are allowed to show too many movies instead of using that time to help struggling students. They also play music that is inappropriate for elementary kids. The staff has no problem being disrespectful or arguing with me about what is best for my child. They dont push children to strive for excellence. In a field trip permission slip to a college it actually said a reason for the trip was because most of the kids would never step foot inside a college classroom again. When the buses are late some of the children have to wait until first recess to eat their breakfast.

I can't believe Oregon trail is only a 5 star school! Seriously it deserves better than that. The staff don't just care about the students they know their names and are always happy to see them. While my child is kind of advanced, they have all sorts of different groups and activities for all skill levels. They make sure all students learn or have the opportunity to learn what they will need to know in the coming years, but they don't stop there. If a child already knows how to do something they teach them the next step. Overall an amazing school that my child and I love.
