I think the school is really good but not the best most of the teachers and students are really nice but I think the teachers can deal with the bullying more than they really do

My daughter is currently attending the school and we've had a phenomenal year. Other than my daughter not being fed lunch one day and the leap supervisor calling me to tell me they are unaware of my daughters whereabouts. The school really focuses on education which is main reason we send our children to school. The Vice Principal, Principal, and Asst Superintendent are very nonchalant in regards to disrespectful comments made from one student to the next and they tend to keep the parent's out of the loop in terms of disciplinary actions when it comes to the other student. My daughter has been bullied and assaulted at this school and instead of a resolution or prevention plan I was told things like "kids say things all the time" and was laughed at for expressing my concerns. It seems that MUSD has far to go when it comes to having a ZERO tolerance for bullying and physical abuse. Needless to say my daughter will NOT be returning to Quail Run Elementary for the upcoming school year.

Love the before/after school programs. My child is enjoying the morning class with the 3D printer.

The teachers really care about the students and the environment at school is a friendly one. The PTO organizes awesome events for the entire family. Very well kept. I agree with the comment below about the receptionist being mean and unpleasant. But I should point out that there are two people who answer the phone and Linda is very nice. The mean one is Eloisa I believe. The teachers keep in touch with the parents and I like that they offer music and PE as part of the curriculum.

Overall this school is great. Just like anywhere there are going to be things that rub you the wrong way but for me they are small. I don't like the receptionist. I think she's mean and unpleasant. I wish they had more family activities at the school so as a parent I could see what my son is doing more regularly. But, the teachers are amazing and patient. The principal is caring and compassionate and the grounds are clean and well kept. The good outweighs the bad for me.

I have two children that attend Quail Run. Over the years, I have consistently felt that the teachers go above and beyond. The teachers and principal are great at communicating with parents. It is truly a great learning environment and we are happy.

Two of my children switched to here this year. At first I was a little on the fence about it as they seemed a little stiff in the office and not very friendly (wouldn't even give us a tour to make the children comfortable). The teachers make up for it though. My daughters teacher is on point with noticing my daughters strong points and building on them while making her feel apart of the community. My sons home base teacher is amazing but the other ones he sees (hes in sixth and they switch) has made no effort to inform us of his progress, barely sends home activity guidelines and didn't even come to his conference with their concerns (he can be a problem sometimes). As for the extra curricular teachers, the librarian must be amazing as my daughter wants to be one now and the music program is awesome! The PE teacher though is a bit rough and rude to the students. As for the fundraising. I get it, it can be over the top but in today's politics and the small amount of money schools get I understand. They are never pushy or rude about it they just kind of put it out their as a reminder that these are your children and every little bit helps to ensure they have a bright future.

I also agree that the school seems to be very concerned with rasing money, and little else. If your child is the normal cookie cutter kid, should do well, if you have a child with ADHD, Ashbergers.... teachers seem to have very little understanding or knowledge regarding these issues.

BAD - All they care about is raising money and making sure their hair looks good- the students don't matter.. Pick another school if you can.

I agree that student achievement and learning is not a priority at Quail Run Elementary.

This school is terrible. The teachers don't care about the students academic progress. All they want to do is maintain good class behavior and have the students raise their hands every five minutes to stay quiet. I would not recommend this school to any parent who wants their child to achieve academic success.

Two children and six years at this school...It feels like a family...Great teacher and staff interaction with the children. Excellent teacher to student ratios...(too bad thats changing with the budget cuts)..awesome after and during school activities..They really live by their motto: "It takes a covey to raise a quail"..we will miss everyone there.
