This school is great compared to the surroundings. All my children are honored with Straight A or A and B. This rating about this school is totally Wrong.

I don't understand why this school has a low rating. My child had to transfer in the middle of the school year. While she had to adjust, there was immediate and continued support. They are responsive and even with her disability they are on it! It's a big school with many onsite resources for the kids. Maybe the rating was previously done, but I think it's very low. It's a great school.

This is the worst school to send your child to. The majority of children are hispanic and most of them don’t speak English, which makes the majority of teachers to speak in Spanish. This is a major problem, especially if your child doesn’t speak another language, but English. Also bullying is still an issue in this school. If you want your children to learn anything, do everything is possible to send them to a different school, because in this school your child/ren definitely won’t learn anything.I am pulling my kids out of this school this year and will homeschool them.

This school is an okay school. I love my sons teacher. I walked in today at 2:19 to get my son out early. I just got out of surgery so I missed the pick up time by 4 minutes....4 MINUTES!!!!!! Like seriously. I'm in pain, my face is swollen and clearly they could of let him come out. The lady just didn't want to do the work. But let my son miss a day of school and they are sending letters out about how they are going to contact outside counselors. Mind you my sons teacher knew about every absence. So glad she is there because some of their policies are ridiculous! Next year my son will be returning to his old school because we are moving back where they care. There is nothing extra at this school. No star reading program, no tutorials or after school program. It's really sad. If it wasn't for Ms. Bright I would've pulled him a long time ago! Thanks Ms. Bright for being so wonderful!

My children have attended Nesbit for two years now and we love this school. My children are in 1st grade and kindergarten. They have awesome teachers Ms Scicca and Mr G. We also had Mr Rodney last year. Nesbit elementary has the best administrative staff including the assistant principals, registration staff, and nurse. Whenever I have a issue , they address it with urgency and care. In my honest opinion, i would want my children to go to any other school but nesbit. They are always greeted with a smile and they learn so much. My children love going to school and get mad if I make them late. They love their friends and they are learning so much. I don't know what nesbit was like before but we've been there since 2013 and it has been awesome.

I have been a member of this community for almost 20 years. I've had 5 children that attended or currently attend Nesbit. I've seen many changes since my first child roamed those halls. All the changes have been for the better. As for the teachers and support staff, I think they are wonderful. There will always be differences of opinions. That will be at any school district that you frequent. My 3 children that currently attend are all in the gifted programs and are challenged daily in school work and socially to do their best and be the best that they can be. The Principal is a caring, educated, Godly man that truly cares about each and every child in the school. He has been the turning point in that institution. Kudos Mr. Knight!

I have 3 kids in the school, and the school has made many strides and improvements in its management in the past 3-4 years. The Principal is very friendly and receptive to suggestions and makes a great effort to make the school a better place. I have a son who has learning issues, and they gave him the utmost attention and he has caught up with his colleagues in the same grade and he is doing alot better now.

This school is THE WORST. My 6 year old attends 1st grade here. She received the same homework with very slight variations for 10 weeks straight! All of the notifications and celebrations are for hispanics. Very little decorations or teaching of the upcoming holidays or anything. The children are not stimulated or challenged to do anything different. The focus is on programs for parents who don't speak English. While these programs are great, American students that go here will fall behind socially, as they are often unable to communicate with their peers and they will learn very little to enhance social and reasoning skills. The students do not venture out on field trips nor will they flex their creativity by creating and bringing home great art projects. In the classrooms, the teachers cater more to those students that require more assistance, while those that are advanced languish. There are few security measures in place to keep your kid from being taken by anyone. If you ask them why, they say... it's because we're Title I, and most of their students get free lunch. Baffling. I guess poor people don't deserve to be smart. HATED IT!

Upon registering my child for school I was met at the front desk with a very unprofessional lady who acted like I was bothering her for coming into the school. There's not much support for kids who are not super fast learners and I've had many issues regarding bullying in school and out of school which went on most of the year. Looking for a private school soon

The school is great academically, but the front desk lady is terrible when it comes to interaction with parents. All the other staff are doing an excellent job and I see alot of improvement in the school.

My son was left at the school by the bus on his way home. The school called me 45 minutes later to tell me he was at the school. I was horrified since I had been waiting at the bus stop for him and he never got off the bus. When I arrived to pick up my son the staff, including the principal were extremely rude. They were not considerate of the emotions of a parent of not knowing where there child had been. They did not even say hello, they just said show your ID and get your child. It was horrible. This school has the worst service towards parents. They treat us like were are not educated people with careers. They feel like we are ignorant. I'm looking into requesting a transfer to another school in the district where education and safety is the number one priority of the school not socioeconomic statuses.

I have a few kids that went to Nesbit this year. I love my fourth graders teacher, She is very understanding and takes the time to work with each student. The other teachers I am a little iffy on but I reinforce at home so I am not to worried. The front office people are rude and I wish that something can be done about that. I have complained but still no change. Don't let them deter you from coming to the school. This school has so many after school and before school activities that the kids love!

My son started Kindergarten here. At first I was a little skeptical because the school looked rundown. Many of the families seemed to be low-income. Usually neighborhoods with a lot of low-income families get the short end of the stick when it comes to funding and the teachers seem to teach the students as if they are already failures. I was wrong. The quality of education is excellent. My son didn't know how to write or spell, barely his abc's. He has been attending for less than 3 months and can already write his name perfectly, can "read" by sounding out letters, can recognize words and letters, can count up to 100, knows math, and can spell out words. He has learned socially acceptable behaviors (such as saying excuse me after passing gas) and has developed a healthy social life with children from school. It really is a great school. I wouldn't let looks or anything cause you to underestimate the school. Also, there IS one lady who is always in the front of the school on the far left of the large desk in the lobby that has a terrible attitude. She barely smiles, will cut you off when talking, and always seems to hate being at work.
