This is the school that everyone thinks of when you picture an impoverished school district. The kids are awful and the wrestling and football coaches are teaching their kids to hurt other teams. The parents here lack education and the kids learn from them. The fathers that are here are obese and extremely aggressive at sporting events. They cuss in the other teams families with little kids. What a terrible area of the state.

I think there's some truth in ALL of these reviews - maybe not as extremely presented, though. I think MOST schools experience these kinds of "things" creating mixed reviews. However, Trion DOES consistently turn out high scores and graduating seniors. It is tantamount to a "private school" because it is a CITY school. There are no buses. Every child is dropped and picked up. They DO rank high in athletics. There IS a lower student-to-teacher ratio which the STUDENTS seem to like much better as well as the parents. I for one am pleased with the education and experience my child has received since he began in 6th grade and will continue to receive as he approaches his 2016 graduation. I feel I've been heard by the staff whenever I've needed to address an issue and the issues resolved to (mostly) my satisfaction.

My child will graduate from Trion High School this year. While we live in LaFayette, close to LaFayette High School we chose THS. Trion welcomed our family into the High School program, we have never been treated as outsiders. The principal commands respect while still being available to the students, the staff encourage students to be their best. Rules are followed by everyone or offenders are disciplined. As a family, we have enjoyed being a part of Trion High School.

This school is horrible. The teachers pick out certain kids to get in trouble. And the principle is not fair

The students are definitely challenged at this school. However, a relative of mine went here and the place is dominated by athletics. If you are not an athlete of any kind, consider yourself inferior to those who are athletic. Football and basketball rule the place. If you can get past the idea that rules don't apply to the athletes, you should be alright.
